If God doesn't have an ego, then why do we have to worship Him?

Satan wants us to hate him. See, he's winning.

just had to comment here, i know i wont change your opinion or anything, and i dont want to get into an argument..
but God is about love, he wants us to love him back. think about this, if God was the only thing, then created everything (be it by a form of evolution or creation), it was probably partly cuz he was alone. just like we all need to have relationship, God wanted to something to have relationship with, to love and to be loved by......also how does he know how good he is if he has nothing to compare with....

Doesn't God demand that we worship him? Doesn't sound like we have an option.
I'd take him more seriously if he was not so demanding and a lot more compassionate.

Good post maverickstruth, I was basically going to ask "Define Satan", because it depends on where you read.
Ultimately God created Satan so in the end the buck stops there anyway.

how does he demand we worship him? does he hope we will? sure he does, he created us and knows heaps more than we could hope to know....im not sure what you mean by "demanding" we worship him...
imo, worship doesnt mean just singing, its a way of life. like some people worship money, ie, they put money above all else in life. so worshipping God would be puttting God first, keeping in mind if what your doing is bringing glory to god/showing Gods love.
do i worship God? well i try to, of course no one is perfect, sometimes i put other things ahead of God, like myself.
dont think God doesnt give us a choice, otherwise we wouldnt have free will. if God wanted us all to just praise him like clones, he wouldve just created robots with no free will.
we have a choice, be reconnected with God and realize what we were meant to be (likely leading to serving God in some way), or go on doubting the one that created us and serving ourselves and other things like money, sex, accomplishment, drinking etc.
not to say any of that is bad in moderation, money is something we need in society right now, we were meant to have sex (not before marriage, but thats a whole 'nother argument) etc.
wow, that was lot more than i expected to type haha

Well, the whole going to hell if you don't believe thing... For eternity. That's a pretty big demand.

Sure, but which God?

So how does one go about being reconnected with God? How do we know how we're supposed to be connected in the first place?

People hate Satan because he is an easy scapegoat for people when things go wrong. While many understand that freewill really dictates how we react and take control of our lives so many would much rather look for answers elsewhere then to look within themselves. Fortunately we live in a enlightened and scientific age where I would hope the majority realize they are in control of their own situation especially in a developed country such as Canada. However society has a long way to go before we can accept accountability for all our own actions. That is the key to solving most the worlds problems.
*Only an opinion from an nonreligious practitioner of free will.

Wow. This thread doesn't seem at all to be designed to bait people into a useless circular argument that will achieve nothing....

Huh wha?
If the argument is so useless, why don't you provide an answer and dismiss this entire thread?
