Yeah, Bowe made a catch deep down the sideline and they called him out. Didn't review it. He was in.
The Chiefs play hard. I think the Chiefs fans here do have something to look forward to.
They've got some great young players who are learning...and Thigpen looks like he might be a legitimate NFL QB.

Ya I'm interested to get a good look at the Chiefs, which I will next week when they play the Saints. New Orleans better be ready to play, as the Chiefs seem to bring it no matter what the score. Gotta respect a team that never gives up.

Awesome win for the Colts today! The defense came up huge in the 2nd half and were outstanding on the goal line stop. Back to back wins over the Patriots and Steelers is good. Tennessee has the division won but we need to string together a streak here to get a wildcard spot. Have a winnable game at home next week, great win boys!

You said it! Every single team I root for this time of year lost this weekend. Flames x2, Saints, LSU, even my High School team lost in the playoffs...
There's only one way to go from here.

Granted, University sports in Canada don't approach the level of skill and hype as in the US of A but what the Dinos have accomplished this year is remarkable.

Things are defiantly improving. A lot of young players on that team, the Chiefs have dressed 70 players this season. Thigpen is looking very good. Got to hand it to Herm and Chain Gailey for simplifying the offense and making it similar to what Thigpen knew at college. The line is playing better as well. I wonder what the running game would look like with LJ carrying the ball instead of 4th stringer Savage?
Edit: Actually, the Chiefs have played much better without LJ. Hope they cut him.

The team does play hard, and they've been ravished by injuries pretty badly. But this is three weeks in a row where they had a very legitimate chance to win the game and failed to do so. Even in week one against New England they had a golden chance to steal that game. It's an inexperienced team, but at some point in time they are going to need to learn how to win.
I'm happy that they're not losing 34-0 every week right now, and they really are fighting just to get a team on the field every week. But it's the NFL and winning is the only thing that counts.
No wonder the Saints fans are looking forward to a game against the Chiefs...they'll get to see Brees throw for 500 yards without all the interceptions!
Still looks like the team is doing a decent job of finding bottom roster guys to at least get them some depth for future years. Bradley has been a good pickup at WR, Thigpen is looking like a guy who can at the minimum be a capable back up NFL QB. You don't find a lot of front line starters, but it's a time where you can develop depth at the 45-53 spots on a roster and the Chiefs are being forced to do that right now. They need another good draft to get some top end roster help here this coming year though, and it's still at least one more year until they could have something.

They need to cut him in the off season. For the type of person he is, and the type of team they're trying to put together it's a disaster of a fit. Not to mention at his age and the amount of hits he's taken, his skill set no longer makes him a top running back. Thats a young mans position and at 27-28 you're an old man at that position. I think he'd make a perfect Bengal or Raider myself.
I must say that there are some intriguing races starting to shape up though. The AFC East is still pretty wide open right now. The only team who doesn't look like they can win that Division right now is the Bills who looked like they should roll it 3 weeks ago. The Ravens aren't going away in the AFC North and the Steelers seem like they have an absolutely brutal schedule. Even in the AFC West the Chargers should still be able to challenge the Bronco's for the Division. Than you get the wild card race which currently has all the AFC East teams, the Steelers/Ravens and the Colts competing for that spot. By the end of the year it could very well be a mess of 9-7 teams and a bunch of tie breakers to figure out who's in.
The NFC has good Division battles shaping up in the South and North with 3 teams all having legitimate shots at those Divisions right nownow. The Falcons at 6-3 are a huge surprise to me at least. This all makes for a bit of a chase for the Wild Card as 3 NFC East teams and the 2 others from the South should fight for that spot, and one of the teams from the North might end up with a good enough record to be in contention for that too if they can't get that Division. As of right now, I think you can punch the Cardinals playoff ticket. Seriously....which one of the Niners, Hawks, or Rams is going to get hot enough to win more than 5 games this season?

The thing that worries me the most about Thigpen. Lets say he continues to play the way he has the last three games. He should deserve to be the starter next season in my eyes. I'm afraid that regardless how Thigpen does, King Carl will draft a QB with his first pick this upcoming draft. What are the chances of a high first round QB becoming an everyday starter in the NFL? 50/50? Knowing the Chiefs luck the QB that they pick will be a bust. Especially if Carl is calling the shots.

I would rather the Chiefs look at bringing in a guy like Derek Anderson than draft a QB. Really I think you need to see how Thigpen plays for the rest of the year and determine if he is a guy who can be a QB. There is no doubt that he's showing progress as he gets to work with the offence more and more. Hell even Croyle didn't play that badly....just couldn't last more than a quarter between getting killed. Although the Chiefs line is starting to come together and somewhat protect the QB the last few weeks.
Really another solid lineman, a power RB to replace LJ, and a successor for Tony Gonzalez and they might start to have the pieces for the offence they'll need to run with the Bronco's and Chargers. Than they'll just have to figure out how to fix the defence.

So are you guys OK with Herm going for 2 yesterday? I thought the play they called was crap, but I applaud the decision to go for 2. Interested to hear what you guys think.
Also, Dorsey was noticable for the first time this season (I've watched them 5 times I believe). He looks like a guy who can be dominant if he can find some consistancy. The guy that has impressed me the most though is Brandon Carr. That kid is going to be a good corner in this league for a long time.

Wow.
This team looks so different than the week before the bye, it is incredible.
Whatever happens, in the 2nd half, it sure is nice to seen them play with a bit of heart.
And watching halftime, I love seeing Boomer give the CFL some press.

So this is what happens when you put 2 bad teams on Monday Night.
SF has alot to be proud of but the play-calling was atrocious at the end.
Arizona sucks cause they keep taking dumb penalties.
DFF: Herm's call to go for 2 is correct. He's 1-7 and it's much easier to go 2 yards on one play then to go 40+ yards in overtime (if you get the ball at all).
Plus his defense was dead tired being on the field so long so no point going to OT.

It really was their best chance to win the game to go for two. This is a team that was down what like 4 starters on defence going into the game and lost another 4 guys during the game. They really didn't have much left on defence so you either take your 50% chance of getting the two point convert and winning the game, or the 50% chance with the coin toss. If the team is 4-4 at this point in the year and in the hunt for the Division it's a different story. But for a team that's 1-7 nothing to lose.
Interesting finish to the Monday night game for sure. I think I forgot that Singletary is coaching the Niners now and that they'd respond to his comments from last week. The Cardinals took a lot of bad penalties, but to call them a bad team isn't accurate in my opinion. Their passing attack is probably the best one in the NFL right now. Fun team to watch when they attack. Plus intra Divisional games are a different animal, especially when a guy like Mike Singletary is bringing his team in a week after an epic melt down. Ask the Chargers Patriots, or Bronco's how easy a Division game is against a Patsy opponent.

Pathetic finish from a pathetic team. How many penalites and how many chances did ARI give SF in the last quarter and a half? How that guy throws a shovel pass to no-one with under 3 mins to go when driving is useless, and then, thanks to crappier calling by ARI, gets the ball back...and unlucky that Gore got touched by a fingernail to call the second to last play down by contact and dead..then after all the drama and time to think about it while the replay was being checked, trying a completely predictable straight draw to a second stringer for the win on the last play of the game?
Pretty much seals the division for the Cardinals. If Wallace made some plays yesterday, and Gore gets in tonight, would've been a 2 game difference between SEA and ARI, with SEA playing Arizona 2 times still. Stranger things have happened.
Now as it stands, a 4 game difference for SEA with 7 to play.

Singletary's an inexperienced play-caller with a rookie QB.
They had the ball on the 1 yard line with 45 seconds to go and barely ran 2 plays.
They should have spiked the ball immediately (35 seconds left) and then take 3 throws into the endone. Arizona would have probably taken another dumb penalty and they could then take up to 6 shots at the endzone.
