I dunno. There was, like, an 80 year old lady living there up to about a month ago. It's either the grandkids or hooligans breaking into an abandoned house (or maybe both).

We had about 50 young children come through before 7:00 pm. At that point, we took out our 3 year old daughter/elephant to the neighbors on the street. We left the basket (with maybe 100 mini chocolate bars) on the step with note that said "Politely take 2 each. We're out ourselves!". We never really left sight of the house, and I noticed maybe 20 kids had gone through. But, of course, someone had emptied the basket by the time we got back. I thought it might happen, but I was hoping it wouldnt

Tons of kids all over the loop, my son had an awesome time as a little Darth Vader, this is the kind of time I remember as a kid.

Right on, my oldest was Darth Vader as well, saw lots of them this year.
We saw lots of kids out tonight, it was a great Halloween. I'll bet there was in the range of 60-75 kids and then a few groups of older kids that came around and cleaned up on all the stuff we didn't want laying around.
It was my sons third birthday as well so we had a great time.

3 kids. One of them was our neighbors. We live in a cul de sac and it's also in a new development. Kids and their parents probably want to stick to the main roads with sidewalks.

We took our daughter around the culdesac and it was enough for her. After 7:30 we just stuck a bowl on the step full of candy, I just remembered it when I saw this thread and it never got emptied.
That means we had 50 kids tops, less if those after 7:30 took a bunch each.

We had no kids!! We live in a nice townhouse complex and there are tons of kids around...but none came! None came last year.
Ive noticed that less kids go out trick or treating in San Jose/Monterey/Fullerton (the 3 places Ive lived in California since I moved here in 2000) than they did in Calgary/Edmonton/Fort McMurray when I grew up there.

I got about 20, my neighborhood only has 92 homes in it and we're pretty spread out, so that's the average number. I have way too much candy left over.

Hey I was just watching the news and there was a story about how some people are feeding their left over chocolates to their cats and dogs, making them really sick. Remember that even just a little tiny bit of chocolate can cause very serious illness and even death to your pet. So keep them safe and away from your leftover candy everyone

I'm in Riverbend. We had about 55 come through, although we had a lot of older people (like people who have been shaving for a good five years). I thought that was a little weird, but whatever.
The past few years we've been at 80, 65, and then 40 last year. The over/under was 35 this year, so I lost a bet to my girlfriend. Blast!

We had over 100. Street was full of kids and family's from 6:30 -7:30. Ran out of candy on the older kids at 8:30. Our street is pretty fun, many parents dressed up. One family did a full on Dorothy and Oz get up. Very well done. My parents come over from Douglasdale because they just dont get kids there; they love seeing all the little kids here.
Two neighbors who wanted to be out on the street all night, came up to my daughter and gave her big bags of goodies. She didn't have to work hard at all.
Highlights: guy across the street that just got back from Afghanistan dressed as a fat ballerina. Then some kid left a 5' long (plastic) battlaxe on our steps. It's mine now.
Also 4 houses down the lady of the house was dressed as a ... I don't know, a french maid or something. Holy inappropriate for young kids to see her in that, but I wasn't complaining.
