Very true! Growing up i held the street record for 3 pillow sacks full. We always hit the richer neighborhoods as they gave out fullsized candy bars and bags of chips. Biggest hauls came around 9 PM as households dumped thier bowls of candy into our bags. They said better we eat them as opposed to them

Back when I was a kid, we didn't have Google Maps and cell phones.

Same here. We used word of mouth to find out where the good candy was being handed out. We jotted it down in a note book and started planning for next year.

Now the young teens are showing up. At least they took the effort to dress up.
24 and counting.

Ah, I wonder how the neighbourhood fireworks displays were in Richmond/Surrey tonight. When I lived in South Richmond in the '90s, it was like being in Kabul during the initial days of American bombing.

Thanks for the extra candy bar, BTW. It wasn't a suit, tho.

Man our neighbourhood was awesome, most of the houses had good decorations, some couple had so much you went into the house to see all the decorations!
Tons of kids all over the loop, my son had an awesome time as a little Darth Vader, this is the kind of time I remember as a kid.

LOL I had one kid dressed as boxing promoter Don King. He somehow got his long hair to stand up on end with the frizzy look

Probably about 70 kids here in Glamorgan. It is suprising really, since at least 50% of the homes seem to be retired people. It was a perfect night for it.
We had about 50 young children come through before 7:00 pm. At that point, we took out our 3 year old daughter/elephant to the neighbors on the street. We left the basket (with maybe 100 mini chocolate bars) on the step with note that said "Politely take 2 each. We're out ourselves!". We never really left sight of the house, and I noticed maybe 20 kids had gone through. But, of course, someone had emptied the basket by the time we got back. I thought it might happen, but I was hoping it wouldnt

I'm in a new area of Okotoks and had 3 to start the night at 6:00 and 2 to finish it at 9:00 - none in between.

I think we've pretty much wrapped up here in the deep SE (no kids for 10 minutes now), total so far tonight is 64. Not bad considering that in the exact same house three years ago, it was zero.

We had 5 by about 7 when we took our kids out...we were going to do what you guys did, but I decided against it, knowing full well that someone would empty it, even if we could see the house!
