I think he said he couldnt. I think it is mathematically impossible for him to be the PM.

LOL!

It is impossible (number wise) for him to become PM. He is being honest.

I hate his party, I hate what he stands for, but I love the guy as a debater, and I think he's incredibly honest.

I think that it is either a slip by the camera man or the producer showing his personal tastes. It is attempting to make Dion look more sincere.
Brutal.

He didn't say that exactly, but he was pretty much saying that May and Layton were making promises they had no hope of ever keeping.
It is actually a brilliant move for him, he knows what his role will be in the House. He is planning for it, he knows what he wants to accomplish and is telling people stuff he has a hope of accomplishing.

ROFL, I don't get any government perks. I never claimed that I make difference in history. I just don't agree that the arts has the biggest effect on society. Especially not Canadian arts.

Do you diminish the impact Full Metal Jacket has had on society?

OK... He said "you other three". That's more than May and Layton...
But yeah, he's being honest and that was a pretty damn good move, strategy-wise. Well done, Duceppe.

Wow, I am pretty sure Harper just fully lied. You cannot promise to never raise taxes...

I wish they would. It'd be a lot smarter then a cheque every month for $200.

Remember the George Bush "No new taxes"
And the Liberals created the mess with the income trusts and opening it up so everyone converted to income trusts, as much as it was painful, the system had to be changed.

I honestly had no idea that he's helping out harper. Is he on a leave from the Uni or is he gone for good?

Everytime there's an election, he goes off to Ottawa for awhile and eventually comes back. Happened last election during one of my exams. He was just like: "sorry you won't see me again this semester" LOL.
The other fellow, Atkins or whatever, an economics prof @ U of C is harper's chief economic advisor as well. The Calgary Group as they are called are his backbone and close buddies.

He could fully intend on not raising taxes, even if he ends up having to raise them, it doesn't make what he just said a lie.
