Well, I'm not sure I could afford the $600 on top of the other teams, so, probably not.
On another note, I did play soccer with KevanGuy a few years back.. it'll be a CP reunion of sorts

I would be interested but I played in the WRAHL last year and may or may not be asked to return next season. If I am not I would definitely be interested. When do you have to know by?

Sounds good to me too. When will you know what nights the games will be played. I'm taking a couple of night classes that run Mondays and Tuesdays. Any other night and I can make it out. Thanks.

During the winter, games can start as late as 11:15 pm.

That's the million dollar question with the NCHL. With this league you basically have to just join a team and hope the schedule works out, because GM's need to have the money in long before the schedule's are released. Typically you will have one ice time that is consistant for about 3/4 of the games. So let's say your home ice time is 10:00, Thursday's at FLC, then you'll likely play a lot of your games at this same timeslot. But the problem is, we won't know what this time slot is until late August/early september.
However your pick of home arena is based on when your deposit is in, also the earlier deposits ensure the earlier start times, so the faster we can get all the deposits in, the betetr chance we have of getting something that will work for everyone.

Yeah that's another reason to get an early deposit in, because it can be the difference between starting your games at 9:30/10:00, and starting at 11:00 or later.
Also, that is definitly somethinmg everyone should take into account before commiting. This may not be for you, if you have a job that requires you to be up at like 4 or 5am. I guess it depends on how your body works, personally, i can play a late game of hockey, get 5 or 6 hours of sleep and be fine, where as some people are just wrecked in the morning if they do this.

That's why getting a friday or saturday timeslot is beneficial as well. Alothough, even then, a lot people don't work a typical moday to friday shift.

The desposit (about $250), will likely be due in early July, however, like I said, the earlier the better. Technically, we could put a deposit in today and probably be the first team out of the 96 NCHL teams to pick our ice time, but I just don't have the financial ability to do that, or I definitly would.

Keep in mind, I would also like some input into the size of the team as well. Personally I'd like to go with a smaller team. So let's say we go with 11 or 12. The you assume that two people can't make it each week (because that almost always happens) and you get two forward lines and 4 defensemen, or we can go with 13, which (when everyone's there) is 3 forward lines, and four defensmen. Then as players don't make it, you just consense the lineup. So if 1 guy doesn't show, then you roll two cnetres through three sets of wingers, if two guys don't show you roll two cnetres, and play with three d-men etc.
There are pros and cons to each, obviously the cost goes up for every less player we have on the team, also for those of us who are a litle out of shape *hand goes up*, bombing around every second shift can be hard to do some nights.
A lot of team like to go with 15 (3 lines, 6 d-men) to cut costs, but being on a team like that before it was a bit overwhelming when everyone was there, both in the small dressing rooms, and on the benches.

btw My first post in this thread will be kept updated with people who have commited both verbally and financially, although your spot will only be secured when the deposit is in.

Maybe we could call on some CP folks to design a logo, or... wasn't there a site that you could pay like $20 and people would have a competition for that $20, and they design logos for websites etc.. maybe we could do that? And give them a template of a 89 Flames uni for colour scheme?

Who was that guy who had the templates of Flames jerseys, and then made jersey ideas for the new Flames jersey when it was unknown?

If you're interested in playing you should also mention whether you'd prefer to play in the north or south. ALthough ideally, we'd like to get a central arena.
