I get the impression it was more 'Don't let the door hit you on the way out' type response. If you make general blanket statements about the male population of the province you can expect the male population to take exception. Especially when you do it in a paper.

I sort of find it funny that she is moving to NY to find men. NY has one of the highest women to men ratios in the country (and not in her favour). The competition is pretty good too, hope she likes to spend money on upkeep.

You know what's much sadder than a bunch of members on a message board starting a thread to discuss this aritcle? Joining the message board for the sole purpose of defending the woman in said article. Was Yvonne really that crushed by comments by a bunch of dudes on a Calgary Flames board? Get a life.

You guys are hypocrticical, you criticize someone for making a statement about someone he actually knows, then go on to retaliate saying that you are justified because Yvonne has made Alberta guys sound bad. This is a worthless debate, Yvonne pinned down her opinions, not hiding behind a made up monicor, and yeah she opened up to her own criticism, but the personal attacks on her looks or her methods of dating are not necessary. When you can tell me that you have met her in person, and had a real live convo with her then those comments may have some validity. But even my comments won't stop all of you from continuing to post, like it or not there is alot of cowardace in calling someone out then saying your name is: Mi6200. She basically had bad dating experiences with a few men (who may or not may not even be from Alberta due to the influx of people from other provinces) and then decided to label all Albertan men that way. I'm not knocking Alberta boys, but I have to agree with the article. When I have been in the States, for some reason the men there approach you ALOT, and there methods of engaging in coverstaion is alot better than what I have experienced here.

I'm not attacking you... but could that be vacation syndrome, coupled with fond nostalgia, like was discussed on the board before?

In Mexico, many men swarm blondes like a fat kids swarm free cake, they are mystified by the light hair and they'll step over their own mother to be with one...some girls love the attention, some hate it. To each their own. There's nothing wrong with that.

But to slander an entire group based on one good experience abroad and an insignificant sample here is humorous at best, and pathetic at worst. As mentioned before, if a guy wrote an article on why Canadian chicks suck and why Japanese girls are awesome (my buddy could write a great piece on that), not only would no reputable publication take it on, but there would be cries of mysogyny and chauvinism. Why should she be treated any better for the same thing?

Its akin to a mediocre hockey player getting traded awaysaying their old team was the reason they didn't suceed at the airport on their way to their new team. Its very unclassy, and going to encourage some less than kind responses... I don't see why that's hard to understand.
