Such good memories, I remember taking LSL home and playing it till completion in 14hrs of non stop playing.
I have a soft spot for the first 2 Kings Quest and my second favorites were of course Police Quest/Space Quest.
Not sure how many played it but the Black Cauldron was awesome as well.
Great stuff!

Can anyone explain where I can get these games, and make them work on a Mac?
I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to emulaters and the such.

Yeah, if somebody could point me in the right direction to getting them to work on the good ol' pc here, that'd be great!

I loved the Police Quest series as well. Back then, there were no online walk throughs, but you could buy the books that had all the questions you could ever have about the game, but the answers were hidden with invisible ink - you just used the supplied marker to reveal the answer. I never would have figured out how to "Administer Field Sobriety Test" any other way.
Anyone else play Goldrush? That was a great game as well.

Also enjoyed Police Quest. I can always remember one of the later versions, when you actually got to drive around in the squad car, one of the calls was to a river with some naked guy going crazy. You could shoot him, but it ended the game. You'd just restart, manage to find your way back there after trying to navigate with the most useless mini-map in the corner... ahh good times.

You were supposed to use your knight stick (sp?) on him. Nowadays you'd just taser him (along with your colleagues).

http://www.scummvm.org/
Emulator for PC, Mac, Linux, DS, iPhone, PalmOS, etc, etc, etc...
Then just torrent a scumm package.
SCUMM is the name of the old LucasArts point and click system, hence the name of the emulator and the fact that most of the games listed here are called "SCUMM games".
Update: Apparently SCUMM stands for Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion

I got them to work on my PC last night. I use Vista at home, so it will definitely work on your PC.
You need dosbox to make it work. Download dosbox and read the manual, its pretty easy to figure out. I played space quest 1 last night. I'll be willing to go into more detail if you need help.
As far as where to get the games, I'm not sure of the legality of me telling you where to get them, but it isn't hard to get them.

You would have if you read the manual that game with the game. In the section on drunk drivers it said that the field sobriety test must be administered to determine if the driver is drunk.
I know this because I was stuck at that same part for weeks! I finally figured out what to do when I read the manual. Stupid manuals. They think people actually bother with those?!

I don't have a Mac myself, so I can't tell you for sure, but here's a link to a DOS emulator for Mac.
Install that, find somewhere to download the game, then use it to run the game. To find the games just try googling the game. If that doesn't work add the term 'abandonware'. Abandonware is supposed to refer to old games where the copyright has expired can now be distributed freely, but the term is often used just used to refer to old games in general.

Yeah I use Dosbox to play all the old SSI Forgotten Realms/Dungeons and Dragons games.
Nothing like making your P4 run like a C64 for a while....
Some faves... Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Eye of the Beholder.
Always loved the wicked item duplication cheats. I have a 6 member party, all of whom have Gauntlets of Storm Giant Strength, Invisibility Cloaks and +5 Vorpal Swords.
