49ers are one MNF game this year.

I really have no clue what this team's prospects are - I can make an argument for anywhere between 3 to 8 wins. The high priced secondary signed last season didn't change a thing, and 3 OCs in 3 years really can't help a young, struggling QB. The O-line was a mess last year, and the D-Line lost Bryant Young to retirement this year. My hope is that last season's regression gets worked out. They don't need to win everything (especially since they play the Pats, Eagles, Cowboys, and Giants this year) but seeing the young talent become competitive would be great. Patrick Willis was the bright spot last year, I hope another few young guys emerge this year.

Come on. The Bills and the Dolphins could be a good game just like the Kings and the Lightning could have been a could game this season. It's too bad that the only story line to come out of the first game in Canada is which team wont finish in the basement of their division. I mean, there's not even a marquee player to see (regardless of who the Dolphins draft).

I do understand the reasons behind it: Buffalo doesnt want to lose a home game that is actually against a team people will want to see play and fans in Canada would pay to see anyone play... the demand for tickets for this game proves it.

The Fish were always a big draw in Buffalo, and I'd be surprised if the "squish the fish" campaign was any less lively now. Buffalo was 7-9 and that includes 2 shellackings from the Pats and a miracle Elam field goal. Unless things regress again, the Bills were a young team on the rise last year.

Philly needs him more than Denver needs him. Back off! If the Eagles landed him they'd be instant Super Bowl contenders.

As predicted the Broncos sign the underwhelming Darrel Jackson today.

He would be dynamite in Denver. He's a great receiver that is good for a developing QB like Cutler. Therefore, I hope it doesnt happen.

I wonder who (legitimately) is in the market for him. Could Dallas toss those two #1's to Cincy for him? Even Romo couldnt screw that up.

I thought the Bengals were in no position to trade 85 because of the huge cap hit?

Same here.

Trading Johnson, who is signed through 2011, would force the Bengals to take a huge salary cap hit this year, reportedly in the neighborhood of $8 million.

But him saying he wants to be traded is not the same thing as him being traded.

But if he is traded, what does it say about the player that the team is willing to take a major cap hit rather than have him around?

Soooo, anyone interested in a Bengals #85 authentic jersey, never worn?

A buddy just phoned me to say that channel 124 is reporting that the Chiefs are shopping Jared Allen. Apparantly he has meet with two teams. I can't find a thing about it on the internet and am currently tuned to 124. If true I will be the biggest "Fire Carl Peterson" spokesman in the world.

edit: Yep, Vikings is one of the teams looking to make a deal for JA, according to 124.

There's a link to it. This makes me giddy with excitment if the vikings could trade a first roudner and a third rounder with a conditional 2nd next year if we sign Allen. (this is ALL my opinion on the picks)

That's much better than if the Vikings settled on drafting Merling.....

I can take the Flames losing game 4, but I can't take this. You could boil an egg on my forehead right now.

Yeah, just saw this too. This really sucks as Allen is the Chiefs defence. I know the Chiefs need to do a proper rebuild, but man will it suck to lose Jarred Allen, especially if he is indeed committed to being off the bottle and terrorizing QB's. 15.5 sacks and 13 forced fumbes in 14 games last year.

It's funny how we get people suggesting the Flames just tank it and rebuild the thing. Well the Chiefs look like they're about to do this...and as much as it's needed....It still SUCKS!

Every mock draft on the planet has the Chiefs screwing the pooch with the 5th overall pick....so if they trade for another first, fart they'll probably screw it up too.

Frick, 0-16 here we come!

It would be the same as trading Derrick Thomas during his heyday with the Chiefs. Jared Allen is the heart and soul of this team right now. Do the Chiefs need to rebuild? You bet. Will it work out in the long run? Maybe. I'm usually not one to get too emotional over a player, especially in this day and age with free agency and salary caps. Jared makes the game fun. He has a great attitude and a sense of humour along with great skill that has made him a fan favorite in KC. He had expressed a desire to be traded before. He said he loves KC, loves the fans, loves the team, teammates and coached. He just hates Carl Peterson. Chiefs fans were pissed before, what kind of backlash will this create?

As a Raiders fan, I would be happy to see Allen out of the division. But I sympathize with you Chief fans. Allen had a great year and I really like his tenacity and motor. Big loss if it does happen.

I've read a bunch of mock drafts with varying degrees of reliability. As a Chiefs fan, who, ideally would you want to take? I would think Jake Long out of Michigan, but there's a very good chance he wont last to 5. Do you go with Matt Ryan if Long's gone and the Falcons pass on him? Are you guys seriously in the market for a QB or would you want to wait until the second round and get Henne/Brohm? Or are Chief fans happy with status quo?

I was listening to ESPN's podcast yesterday and they said that the Chiefs are big on Brandon Albert (G) out of Virginia. At 6-7, 310lbs, the Chiefs think he could play LT/RT... assuming Long isnt on the board. They have him above Clady and other OT's.

Picking up the Viking's 1st rounder (17th) might put them in a position to take a OT there if they dont get Long and dont think Albert is worth the #5.

What about defense? Would a guy like Ellis or Dorsey or Gholsten?
