Well, the family spots were put in some places to allow women who were pregnant or just popped to not have to walk as far. But they get abused so badly now; I see the soccer mom with her 10 and 12 year old kids using the spots.

The irony of the familly spots is that on more than one occasion I've seen the mom get her 2 year old out of his seat, and then as she's getting the 3 month old out the 2 yo starts to wander; and with the familly spots being so close its also close to the main through road in front of the store. I saw a guy actually have to grab some woman's kid so that he wouldn't get hit. Saved his life actually.

Yup I'm sure the guy got the message.
I'm sure it went something along the lines of:

"Hey there's garbage in my truck.....hey, there's coffee on my front seat....DAMN WHY DID I PARK IN THE HYBRID SPOT?!?!"

I'm sure you did a great job of changing this guys ways, thanks Captain Justice!

wow simmer, you've sure stirred it up around here! C'mon people, it's not that bad and you have to admit it is kinda funny. Some of you are making it sound like he dropped a boulder through the windshield and slashed the tires.

He threw a cup through an open window . . . that isn't really a big deal.

We debated for weeks about what to do from just bringing it up in a staff meeting to try and let him know it's wrong and we all know it's him. To trying to figure out how to get a wheel chair and then smash it through his rear window. Finally one day our boss told him what a horrible thing that was to do and he was very apologetic. Weeks later I noticed his car in the adjacent buildings handi-capped stall which wasn't necessarily closer than the other 'regular stalls'. Brutal.

Some people are just ignorant.
Yeah some people are but in the case you describe you seem to know "the whole story" and it wasn't just some random car. Myself, I have a handicap card but I don't drive around with it dangling from my rear view mirror as it's a distraction. I remember to put it up when I park but if I forgot I'd hate to have my truck trashed because of it.

Okay, so are you a liar, or do you not understand that you can't spill coffee from an empty cup? Becasue if the latter is the case then you may be able to apply for a permit to park closer to the store.

I've never heard of "hybrid parking". The only thing I can think of that's comparable is compact cars only... but arent those usually in parkades only?

I dont like people that park over two spots, regardless of the car they drive.
At Ikea, the Family Parking area is located so that you don't have to cross traffic to get into the building. Less chance of getting hit by a car and easier to get into the building with a stroller (especially in the winter where there may be snow.). It is supposed to be for people with small children (as per the signs) but you will notice that many of the cars parked there don't have child seats in them.

That's a good idea. I dont know because I avoid Ikea like the plague. Anyways, ken said that it's for really pregnant women, but I think it's use is broader to include little kids (not 10-12 year olds).

this turned into a big mess, didn't it.

Bad drivers are annoying, reckless drivers are different, and deserve to get called in.

I know sometimes I get a little close to people, I might tailgate some people a little bit, but its usually cause they are going slow in the left lane, or under the speed limit, that isn't reckless driving. I don't speed in school zones, I don't spin my tires at every light, and people who do shouldn't have a license, let alone a car.

Being from the country and driving a fairly new vehicle (had a 99 Dodge Ram for the last few years, now an 06 Sierra) a big pet peave is when people don't pull over on a gravel road (oncoming), if you meet, you should, as a decent human being, pull over and slow down...otherwise you throw rocks and crack other peoples windows. some poeple dont realize this..... the only self policing have ever done was with this one older dodge truck, 2 separate occasions i passed him, twice i got chips in my window, and my dodge had a big motor and a light box....the third time i saw him i pitched the truck sideways (floored it) and threw a hale-storm of rocks just as he got close enough that i could get the truck straight in time, and hed hit the rocks...he slowed down after that.

Dicks that take up multiple spaces, hybrid spaces, and handicapped spaces (illegally) are dicks, people that throw garbage in other peoples vehicles deserve to get cracked in the face, and anyone who keys anyone else's vehicle should get keyed themselves, right in the face. leave a note if you feel overly compelled, but eventually people who do stupid things will get theres, usually in the form of a ticket, an accident, or getting punked by some other ignorant driver.

"It didn't look like", wow I'd hate to see a guy like you on a jury, you'd convict on appearance without knowing the facts.

But Simmer didn't act like a jerk, so why would he get punched in the face?

Even had there been coffee in the cup, which there should have been, it wouldn't have been a jerk move.

Does this mean you should get rocks, right in the face? I just found what you did (throwing up rocks) to be the same as keying a car.

Cmon man, really. This guy parked a large SUV in a spot reserved for eco friendly vehicles. To me, there just seems to be a degree of contempt here on this guys behalf. I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if he knew EXACTLY why someone had shoveled a bunch of garbage in his car.

Buddy was acting like a pr1ck and got called out on it. Karma at it's finest I'd say.

Cmon man really. This guy threw garbage in a truck that was only parked in the wrong spot. To me, there just seems to be a degree of contempt here on this guy's behalf. I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if he knew EXACTLY why someone had punched him in the face.

Karma works both ways man.

I knew someone would bring that up. You know when you finish coffee and there's a bit left over at the bottom you can't get out? That's the part that could have spilled onto his seats.

Apparently it has stirred up things. Oh well, if people find what I did awful, they can think that. And I'd do it again too.

Oh, okay, so you only wanted to do a little bit of dammage.
Well that's certainly fine then.
While you were at it, you should have just sort of poked at his paint with your key, or punched a really tiny hole in his tires.
