The biggest problem I had with the whole thing was his complete irregard for rules. Most of the time I'm driving, it's people in massive vehicles who think they own the road. Well, I figured this was a small little payback.
I don't think parking in the hybrid stall is nearly as bad as the people who park in the "family only" parking area at Ikea who don't have any kids with them. (Happens all the time.) And even then, it would never anger me so much that I would throw trash in their car. By the way, if you care that much about the environment, shouldn't that stuff have gone into the recycle bin?

And I'm pretty sure keyin a vehicle costs money to repair, where throwing out garbage doesn't cost anything. I wouldn't do anything to harm his precious SUV don't worry.
Do you own a hybrid?

Yup I'm sure the guy got the message.
I'm sure it went something along the lines of:

"Hey there's garbage in my truck.....hey, there's coffee on my front seat....DAMN WHY DID I PARK IN THE HYBRID SPOT?!?!"

I'm sure you did a great job of changing this guys ways, thanks Captain Justice!
No problem.

I wasn't thinking about that at the time. And unfortunately, Tim Horton's cups can't be recycled, I've tried with our curb recycling and it doesn't work.

Thanks a lot for that. Really.

Then it wasn't even close to being your business! I don't understand how people can get worked up enough by something so small that they would damage someone elses property.

Did you guys hear about the road rage story coming out of Vancouver this morning? Two trucks were pissed off at each other, and one of them ran the other one off the road. The one truck ended up in the ditch and the three guys got out to dust themselves off. The other truck turned around, and mowed down one of the guys. Yep, he's dead. And no, it wasn't me. I don't get that furious.

Only in 2008 can a perfectly good road rage thread turn into a discussion on recycling!

Simmer, I'm sending you a bill for the coffee damage to my seats!

Maybe the SUV was propane fueled as well as gas. Would that qualify it as a hybrid?
To add, I don't like self appointed cops who often act without knowing the full story.

I didn't damage his property, I wouldn't cross that line. It was a coffee cup with the lid on it, and the cup was empty.

Haha....fair enough Slava. I'll buy you a Tim Horton's coffee and you can return the favour.

I've tried giving people the benefit of the doubt and most of the time it hasn't worked out. And I highly doubt they were using propane, the SUV had massive rims and tinted windows. It didn't look like the type of owner who would care to use propane.

I actually look up to people like that.

In other news, a guy I used to work with parked in the handi-capped spot all day at work (one spot for a six floor building) because his mother had a pass and he saw no wrong in it. We debated for weeks about what to do from just bringing it up in a staff meeting to try and let him know it's wrong and we all know it's him. To trying to figure out how to get a wheel chair and then smash it through his rear window. Finally one day our boss told him what a horrible thing that was to do and he was very apologetic. Weeks later I noticed his car in the adjacent buildings handi-capped stall which wasn't necessarily closer than the other 'regular stalls'. Brutal.

Some people are just ignorant.

I park in every open parking stall, except handicap. AFAIK that is the only stall you can be ticket/towed for being in. Although I do park in those when I am with my Grandma, taking her to the hospital or grocery store.
I've never seen Hybrid parking, but Fing rights I would park there. Family parking? because I'm not married I can't park somewhere? Do they have commonlaw parking?
Are you guys kidding me? these exist?

The way it seems to be going, normal everyday males who live in the suburbs and drive a typical decent car will have reserved parking, and it will be all the way in the back of the lot after everyone else's reserved spots!

I used to carry large stickers in my vehicle. When i saw someone parking in a handicapped stall illegaly, i used to stick a couple of them on their drivers side windshield. I figured if said driver was going to inconvenience a handicapped person they should have to spend some time trying get said stickers off their windshield

Brilliant.

What did the stickers say?

I think the "family parking" is intended for people who have little kids and have to load them from their strollers to the vehicle. IIRC those spots are closer to the door and may be slightly wider to allow for more room to maneuver. Something Im fine with (how did our mothers/fathers manage back in the day?).

I've never heard of "hybrid parking". The only thing I can think of that's comparable is compact cars only... but arent those usually in parkades only?

I dont like people that park over two spots, regardless of the car they drive.
