Always a concern that a guy like Turner who is relatively unproven won't live up to that contract, but I kinda think he'll be really good.
Agreed. Between him and Norwood, that's alot of speed in the Falcons backfield. Goddamn do I hate that team...

Vikings are apparently going hard after Patriots reciever Jabbar Gaffney.

Samuel, Stallworth, Gay, Kyle Brady(released) all gone......Moss, Gaffney, Harrison, Seau to follow?

Tennessee Titans sign TE Alge Crumpler (Falcons) to a 2-year deal.

Cincinnati Bengals acquire DT Dewayne Robertson (Jets), in exchange for Cincy's 2008 4th and 5th round picks.

I'm happy to see the Bengals finally get their DT, maybe the Saints can land Dorsey or Ellis after all...

Really surprised at this one...Seattle had been all over him as soon as FA time hit.

Maybe he didn't want to make the long move to the NW? Or maybe the Titans offered up a bunch more $$.

Either way, the Hawks may now be looking at Bubba Franks.

A little off topic, but when the naming rights expire in June, it will no longer be Monster park, it will once again be Candlestick park.

Trade talks between the Giants and Saints that would bring TE Jeremy Shockey to New Orleans are really heating up. Payton apparently contacted the Giants about Shockey on Friday, but to no avail. But he's still trying. And just yesterday on ESPN radio, new Saints MLB Jonathan Vilma(and former Miami Hurricane, along with Shockey) mentioned that he has spoken with Shockey several times throughout the week, where they have spoken about getting back together with the Saints. The interviewer(Clayton) asked Vilma straight up what the Saints had told him about it, and Vilma responded that he doesn't know if he can say that.

Bit of a high risk/high reward type move, due to Shockey's personality(at least what's rumoured of it). Maybe Payton had a good relationship with him during their one year together in New York in '02. Rumours are the Giants are seeking at least a 2nd round pick in return from the Saints, and it could even be multiple picks. That's a little rich for my blood for an oft-injured, somewhat problem player such as Shockey, but the payout could be huge.

Samuel says he went to the Eagles, because "he wants to get back to and win the Superbowl". Right. It was all about the $.

NE will be back to the Superbowl 3-4 X before the Eagles and McNabb get there.

LA Times reporting that Moss is getting frustrated with the Patriots and that the Packers, Cowboys and Colts could all be interested in making a pitch for Moss.

I can't see TO and Moss on the same team. That rumour also surfaced when TO wanted out of Philly and the Raiders were rumoured to be interested.

Listening to Jim Rome this morning, him and a guest (I failed to grab the name) were discussing the NFL. Moss' options before free agency seemed to be numerous - Philly, Jacksonville, Dallas, NE, Green Bay, Chicago, etc...

But when everything was sorted out it really seems like he had 2 options - New England or Green Bay.

Philly wouldnt take a chance because theyre still stung from TO's depature, Dallas wouldnt take a chance of the locker room imploding with Moss and TO being there, Jacksonville went with Porter (ugh) and Moss seems to need a stud QB to exist in the NFL, thus Chicago was out.

Im kinda glad he didnt go to Green Bay because Moss would have wanted 3 years and once Farve left, he would have been a pain the the cheeseheads side for the duration of his contract.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquire QB Brian Griese (Bears) for an undisclosed 2nd Day pick.

New York Jets sign LB Calvin Pace (Cards) to a 6-year, $42 million deal.
(Initially it had been reported Pace had signed with the Dolphins on day one of FA)

New York Jets sign G Damien Woody (Lions) to a 5-year, $25.5 million deal.
D'Brick, Faneca, Mangold, Woody...thats alot of $$$ on that OL.

Kansas City Chiefs claim FB Oliver Hoyte (Cowboys) off waivers.

New England Patriots sign WR Sam Aiken (Bills).

Pittsburgh Steelers sign RB Mewelde Moore (Vikings).

And word is the New England Patriots have finalized their deal with WR Randy Moss.

And Broncos DT Marcus Thomas arrested in Florida when the truck he was riding in was pulled over and found to contain a handgun and cocaine residue. Well, Marcus, you made it last 9 months. Idiot.
