The prime reason I went into engineering back then, not one paper required to be wrote in 4 years.

I rather write a paper then write one of these exams....

Maundy's 343 Final

authorization required.

Hmm, I can't see it neither, but I've spoken with TOTF before, and we're studying the same fun stuff... perhaps it requires the usage of one of these...?

I get headaches when I stare for too long...
Ehhhhhhhhhh.

I hate all analog stuff. Its a complete headace for me.

Transistors, Op-Amps, Bode Plots, any thing to do with control systems, inductors, conductors, RC circuits, filters and all that other stuff. Any class tought by Sessay, Potter, Haslett, Minchev or Maundy spells trouble for me.

That stuff makes me so confused. I still dont think I have a firm understanding of the fundamentals of that stuff.

Believe it or not, Programming is the easiest thing for me to grasp. I find the programming exams the easiest (its not easy, but its less difficult then the other ones).

Also I dont mind doing programming labs. They get frsutrating when you have to de-bug but its still some what OK.
Java makes me cry.

C, C++, I don't mind so much...

I love electromagnetism and RF stuff though... B-)

So here I am on the most beautiful day of our reading break sitting in front of my computer trying to write a 4000 word essay on the Spartan education system and how it affected the Spartan's decision to make their last stand at Thermoplyae .

Never take a Greek and Roman Studies class as your humanities option.
DONE ALL MY MIDTERMS & PAPERS BEFORE READING WEEK

muahahahaha

For $500 CAD and Flames GREEN/BLACK season tickets rights I will write any humanities related paper (EXCEPT PHILOSOPHY) of any length for anyone. 72hrs turnover, all I need is a topic. Guaranteed B- or above grade. 50% refund if you get a C- to C+, full refund if you get a D or lower.

Are you kidding me? That stuff makes NO sense.

Our prof was finding the Electric Field or the Electric Force back in of this pyramid shape thing using coloumb's law back in ENEL 475.

The lecture still gives me nightmares.

Of course its a bit easier with Guasses Law, but still thats just crazy ass math with too many intergals....

Here is some stuff for you if you like Electromagnetics

Op-amps and bode plots. AHHHHHHHHHHHH. I get flashback to the only course I ever dropped. How anyone can take electrical engineering is beyond me.

I jus could not get my brain around the concept of i or root negative one. How that realtes to circuits was bizarre and it killed me.
Isnt that a unstable circuit?

So you get a pole on the left hand plain?

I dunno that stuff confuses me as well........

Ahhh... how I miss transmission lines... sorta off-topic, but did you (or any other electrical engineers) ever derive formulas in exams?

I find it A LOT easier to derive formulas than memorize them, and solving problems is much simpler for me when I derive the formulas first 'cause I understand what exactly is happening... I don't think the profs appreciate my 4 or 5 extra attached pages though, but that's their problem!!

Derive Formulas on exams??

Man I dont even get how they derive them in class sometimes....

I just kind of tune out until I see 3-4 boards of crap with a box at the end with the formula in it.

I write that down and forget the rest.

Speaking of deriving, an old prof of mine would always tell us at the end of Friday lectures, "And remember, dont drink and derive..." ehhehhe

Sigismund-Nielson. She's got a heavy accent, but I grew up in a Danish family so I don't find it hard to understand her.

I had her in 1st year for GRST 205 - she was brutal. No structure to her lectures whatsoever.

I don't mind her. She is a really bad rambler but seems nice and knowledgable, so I let it slide. Her tests are brutal though.
oh yea, she was definately very nice. I guess I hated the rambling - never got to the point.

Our tests for that class were a joke - knew the topics before hand, allowed to bring in a cheat sheet = easy marks. Which one are you in right now? I'll be sure to avoid it!
I took 205 this semester and we just had a midterm that was 12 pages long all written. It was a freaking marathon. I'm sure the TAs must write the tests as they were all asking us students how the test went after.

Holy smokes this topic just took a dive into engineering geekdom.

Yes, another reason why I took Actuarial Science....no papers....ever.

Granted the STATS have fried my brain into mush, but at least I didn't have to type out a paper and correct my grammer.

What year are you, the_only_turek_fan? I thought you were 4th year?

I'm doing op-amps and poles and such and its a 200 level coarse for me (at UofA).

As for electromagnitism (Gauess's Law ect) I'm doing the first part of it right now. Half our midterm was deriving equations. We were given equations on a formula sheet, but we had to dervive each one if we wanted ot use it.

Comlex plain stuff is ok for me until you start getting into stokes theorems and fourier series in the complex plain. Then its just a swift kick in the balls. The simple complex analysis stuff is just frequency domain. Nothing too big there.

No Sait for me. I go to U of C for Computer Engineering.

Maudy.. I remember 341 was brutal with mintchev. Then the first day, Maudy was like, well you know Mintchev's exam? well I like to raise the bar to around twice or 3 times as hard. Oh it was great.

I don't think I've EVER seen an engineer spend more then 4 minutes talking about something non-engineering related. Somehow, one way or another, whether they are with engineering friends or not, they will mention something school or engineering related, be it over lunch, just hanging out or even on a date!

So how about those op-amps?

HAHAHAHHAHAHAH, what a bafooon.

I also remember on the first day he had a sign in sheet going around the class as he was taking attendence.

Some kid wrote on the sheet "If you take marks off for attendence, I will talk to the Dean"

Then Minchev was like:

<!--QuoteBegin-Dr. Minchev

You can talk to the Dean, you can talk to the Prime Minister, You can talk to the Queen, I can do what I want....
Oh and my favourite:

He pronounces pivitol as PIE-VO-TAL.

Another Minchev classic as he begins his lecture:

<!--QuoteBegin-Dr. Minchev

Are there any questions, comments or concers....If not we will continue our intellectual discussion on the Bi-polar transistor....
He is a jerk when it comes to marking. No part marks with this guy. We had 2 questions on our Midterm. You got either 0, 50, or 100.
