New England is -23 against the Jets this week.
I think NE might beat Mangini by 100!

Buffalo. I can see them becoming pretty good in short order.
In the NFC, it would seem Cardinals and Vikings (though I think they need a QB) are two young teams on the way up.

So assuming the patriots destroy the jets as they probably should, what does the line for the Dolphins game get set at?

Probably less. Miami, even recently, has always given NE trouble.

Oct. 21, 2007:
New England 49 - 28.
This year's Miami is by far one of the worst teams in recent memory.

|
That made me sick! That was the '03 draft, and we traded away TWO first round picks(#17 and 18) to Arizona to move up to draft that deadbeet Johnathan Sullivan. I totally thought it was gonna be Trufant, as did every mock draft in the universe. Average is giving Sully way too much cred. He was a lazy fatty who, according to former Saints DT Kenny Smith at a football camp I was at in Vancouver a couple years ago "He just didn't love the game".
In terms of CB's, word has it that upcoming UFA DeAngelo Hall was overheard telling Sean Payton last night that he'd play for Payton "at the minimum". The fact he said "at the minimum" leads me to believe he's exaggerating and just expressing to him how quickly he's gonna be out of Atlanta at the end of this season, but it also shows he's at least interested in the Saints(and probably realizes how badly they need another CB and will probably shell out the $ for one). Although I'm not sure how keen I'd be on that move. Hall has shows in the last couple years what a thug he is, and I'm not really sure if the Saints would make this move. Especially considering the great lengths Sean Payton has gone to rid this team of bad character players the past two years(Johnathan Sullivan, Dwight Smith, Donte Stallworth, Kendyl Jacox, Joe Horn to name a few)

How about that, Bobby Petrino to leave the Falcons to coach Arkansas...
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3150783
Can't say I blame him. Money is good for a Head Coach in the SEC, and the Falcons are going to have a tough time for a few years now.
He will not coach the final three games this season, he's got some recruiting to do!!!

His offense was going to be designed around Vick and his acceptance was focused on getting Vick to be more functional.
I think both sides are happy - Atlanta needs to start fresh and Petrino was really dealt a rotten hand.

Really, really tough it seems for college coaches to succeed in the NFL. I think NFL GM's are realizing this and the opportunities for college coaches to move to the NFL will be limited in the near future.
I think a college coach with NFL aspiration would be better served by running an offense or defense under a good NFL coach for a few years before jumping into the fire.

It would be a good fit. Is this reported anywhere or just on a bulletin board somewhere?

Take it FWIW:
HALL TO PAYTON: "I'LL PLAY FOR YOU FOR THE MINIMUM"
Our moles who were in the Georgia Dome on Monday night tell us that, at one point during the game between New Orleans and Atlanta, Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall was overheard telling Saints coach Sean Payton, "I'll play for you for the minimum," or words to that effect...
I know I'm contradicting myself since I mentioned him on the overrated players thread, but I'd take a chance on him. Some players just need a change of scenery.
I'm not usually one who wants my team to go after brash, garbage talking players, but I do like my corners to have some confidence.
Mike McKenzie and Deangelo Hall would be a pretty good duo.

Saints are going to have a whack of cap room, so Hall should be high on the list, the guy gets a pass from me, especially seeing as how the head coach he was battling headed for the hills at his first opportunity. If the Saints don't start next season with two new starters at linebacker and safety I'd be shocked.
....oh and fellow Saint fans please never bring up that useless tub of goo Jonathan Sullivan again....

In case you didn't know, PFT is about as regarded in football circles as Eklund or Marty York is in hockey circles.
Larry Fitzgerald supposedly is close to being traded to Minnesota every month.

Yeah, I know they don't have a sterling reputation. I was just providing a link and prefaced it with the FWIW.
After seeing the media circus of rumors involving Michigan/LSU/Arkansas, etc. I don't buy anything anymore.

I'm almost thinking that its worthwhile to bet against the Patriats for the last few games of the year, just because of the odds increasing that they're going to win all of those games.
I wonder what the payoff would be if Miami knocked off New England

Agreed. I've finally admitted to myself that Jason David is a lousy fit in New Orleans(why bring in a Cover-2 guy to play in a primarily man scheme?), and the reason it took me so long is because I love the energy and swagger he plays with out there(at least until he'd get beat for an 80 yard TD for the first time on the night), I think that edge is needed on D, especially in the secondary, and can be infectious for everyone else out there.
I guess I'm just wary on Hall after the spitting incident with Steve Smith(wouldnt that make Saints/Panthers games alot of fun if we grabbed him), and some other stupid things he's done. Though on Monday I did like how when Patten went down in the endzone, Hall was yelling for the Saints trainers to come over for help, and stayed hovering above him concerned as they worked on him. I'd have reservations about the move, but it would be a major addition to our D, and as ST mentioned, we do have the cap room for it($35 milllion I believe).
On a side note, the '08 Draft is going to be stocked full of stud CB's.

Haha agreed. Add Mike Ditka(and the '99 Draft) to that list while we're at it.
