Damn straight. Bottom line is there probably the best team in the country and Dixon should be in consideration for the Heisman.

Dixon is the favorite IMO.

Nobody else is going to get the widespread support that he has.

Yeah, after a rough start to their season, OSU has turned into a very tough team. They are 6 points away from being undefeated in the Big XII going into this game.

Very big test for KU and it looks like they are passing with flying colors.

That was for Joey Harrington.

Yep, Oregon has been throwing the money around lately. I heard that the paint used on the helmets for last years bowl game, that bright yellow, was like 10k ... for paint.

thiy did it for smith too then:

The Ducks, who touted their former star quarterback's Heisman Trophy candidacy with a billboard on a midtown Manhattan building during last season's 11-1 run to a No. 2 national ranking, will unveil a giant billboard of Smith on a hotel near Broadway this week.

The billboard will feature the tailback nicknamed "O" at the school whose logo is an "O" with this message: "O Man."

"I'm with it," Smith says. "If they're going to put me up there, hurrah."

Well thank goodness the fraud of Ohio State being number one was put to rest yesterday with the loss to Illinois. Would love to see a title game of LSU against the spread of Oregon, though Kansas may have a case if they run the table. College football is getting more entertaining every year with the talent seemingly being spread out, every game is not the foregone conclusion it was in the past.

I think Nike would have covered the cost for the helmet paint. It was one of the Ducks 37,000 different uniform combinations.

they've covered the costs for everything in that program for the last decade. The amenities they have now make a NFL team blush.

If LSU, Oregon and Kansas run the table, it's a toss up between Oregon and Kansas. LSU is a lock because of this love affair with the SEC.

Oregon's significant wins are: @Michigan, USC, ASU.

Kansas' significant wins are: @KSU, @Texas A&M, and @Oklah. State.

I would rather see Oregon, because I still dont buy Kansas (5 of their first 6 games were against Cent. Michigan, Southeastern Louisiana, Toledo, Florida International, and Baylor). But, I have a tough time denying a 12-0 team from a legit conference a championship bid.

I hope Missouri knocks them off the last week.

Sorry, I think Kansas is a no brainer, they'll get the #1 seed if they beat Oklahoma in the Big XII championship. And the SEC is tougher top to bottom so LSU get's the #2 bid is my guess.

exactly, with wins vs. mizzou and oklahoma (both in the top 7 before the new rankings) They'd be a certainty for the title game.

It's between LSU and Oregon for the other spot right now, and LSU looks to face a tough Georgia in the SEC champ. so perhaps they have a leg up.

yea, and so they should. I love the PAC10, but I don't like how they don't have a championship game. LSU deserves the nod if they win the SEC championship. (However I think UT is the likely candidate, they are currently leading that division.)

oklahoma is #3 ahead of kansas in the new AP and USA today polls, and mizzou is #6 in both. the Jayhawks are in conrtol of their own destiny here.

I love the Pac-10 too. Not having a championship game doesnt hurt the Big Ten, but it would be nice to have one anyways. The thing is, we would need 2 more teams, and I dont see too western universities ready to step up.

As per your previous post, if Kansas runs the table and beats Missouri and Oklahoma, they absolutely get a bid. If LSU wins out, I think voters will favor the SEC over the Pac-10, which is too bad. Smash mouth football gets a lot more love than it should.

Best case scenario, LSU loses and Oregon/Kansas win out. If LSU makes it to the championship, it's pretty much a home game for them.

PS - hopefully your Sun Devils will take it easy on my Wildcats this Thursday.

I think ASU plays UA in December. Next up for us is SC.

I think 2 teams could step up in the west, I haven't heard of the PAC10 is shutting teams out or if nobody wants in. However even with 10 I still think they could have a conf championship
