Didn't you win sideline passes last year from GSG?

Two years ago. Last year I really started losing interest because of the collective manure pile of officials that league has assembled. I learned to appreciated NHL refs a lot more through the incompetence of these asshats.

I'm bitter because I wanted to support the league which I did by getting season tickets the first two summers I lived in Calgary. I couldn't bring myself to give my money to that league again this year.

Not that I think he can come in and light the league up, but give him a game or two before you pass judgement.
I know he sucks because he has attempted something like 26 passes this season, he has thrown 6 picks. Thats enough evidence for me that he sucks.

Probably of little consolation but at the pre-season game here in Saskatchewan, Akili played really well in the 2nd half (Burris played the 1st I believe). Granted, it was against a more training camp / rookie secondary - which unfortunately (as a Rider fan) was likely better than the secondary the Riders have fielded the past 3 - 4 weeks...

I think there is hope for Akili. I remembered that pre-season game against the Riders and he played really well on that game.

I'm kinda keen to see what Smith can do - not because I think he'll be great - just interesting to see what he has in him.

I'm interested as well. I want him to do well as a Stamp fan, and will be interesting to see another starter for the Stamps. Something we haven't seen in a long while. I don't think Henry was hurt last year, but in 05 when he hurt his thumb we had Jason Gesser and Danny Wimprine. Gesser was brutal, Wimprine was ok. Will be cool to see what an ex-NFLer can do. If he's got the potatoes to lead a club against a very good BC team.

I believe the Stamps were holding a press conference today, to talk about Burris. Has anyone heard anything?

Burris out minimum of 2 weeks. Will be reevaluated after that. No surgery.

Was that from today's press conference?

Yes. They are doing short updates on QR during the news breaks. They say the Stamps expect him to be back on the field before the end of the season for sure. He'll be reevaluated in 2 weeks and we will see how many more weeks from there I guess.

Calgary Stampeders quarterback Henry Burris will be out at least two weeks and then will be week-to-week with an anterior shoulder dislocation.
Burris suffered the injury during the Stampeders' final drive of their loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday.
Burris scrambled out of the pocket and dove out of bounds inside the 10-yard line. Tiger-Cats linebacker Zeke Moreno fell on Burris as he landed out of bounds.
Former NFL first round pick Akili Smith will be the starter for next week's showdown with the B.C. Lions.

I cant see it being 2 weeks for a return. Anterior shoulder dislocations will usually require 6 to 10 weeks before being able to get back to full activity, hence the week to week status.

Well there are 6 weeks left in the season, and the stamps indicated that he would be back before the season is out, so their saying a maximum of 5 weeks I guess.

The 2 week mark is just for re evaluation. I doubt he'll be out for just 2 weeks either. Hopefully only 3 or 4 so he can get a couple games in before the playoffs (if we're still hanging around by then).

Officially ... nothing new

The Stampeders have been assured by doctors that Henry Burris will miss two weeks with his shoulder injury. Realistically, he's out for at least four weeks with a possibility of more.

This might be a really stupid question, but it has a lot to do with how long he'll be out.

Was the shoulder that was dislocated part of his dominant throwing arm, or was it his other side?

It was his non-throwing arm.
