Iggy needs sheltering in a depth role. Asking him to play alongside your hard minute #1C is shooting yourself in the foot at this point.

He'll be an excellent Brouwer replacement once he gets claimed in expansion.

I'm just more sad than anything else. Sure - if Iggy went to Washington, Minnesota, Penguins, Sharks, or Chicago, then great. But to go to LA instead of Calgary. Its just sad.

Who said Calgary was actually interested in him? I think LA was the only team that wanted him.

Not upset he didn't make his way back to Calgary, but I hate the Kings pretty passionately. If this is it for Iginla, I'm sad that he has to finish with that group.

Oilers and Ducks on that list too. I agree that LA will likely pull off a playoff spot.

It's the best Iggy was going to do at this point. He wasn't coming here... neither side wanted that

I see where you are coming from, but isn't the LA situation better than the Avs?

I kinda thought he would end up in Phoenix. It doesn't make sense on any level, but that's the Calgary Flames retirement home.

The people crapping on Iggy's legacy better not offer their thanks when his jersey goes up to the rafters

Conditional 4th round pick. How the mighty have fallen.
Of course, that return might end up being better than what the Flames got for him.
It's a Klimchuk vs. a conditional 2017 4th rounder now.

Now that he's signed I can stop worrying about the trade deadline, I'm perfectly content if we do nothing. Although I'm still holding hope we can pass Wideman and thus the Wideman effect on to a different team. Fingers crossed.

Calgary should have been interested given its roster. Iginla is going to play with Kopitar - a $10m dollar per year player. He would have found a home on Calgary's PP and top 9-forwards.

It's a sputtering Poirier vs. a conditional 2017 4th rounder now.

Is it really the mighty falling when they are 40 years old, or just time passing?

Read again what I said. I never said Iginla was cancer, but he could certainly have a cancerous effect on a dressing room that seems solid right now.
Bringing back the former captain and face of a franchise is always going to have a disruptive effect, period.
