Iggy should wear 24 to book end his career.

I don't think the Flames seriously entertained the notion of obtaining him, to be honest.

According to a source, Colorado trades Iginla to LA in exchange for a conditional pick. Kings plan on having Iginla play with Kopitar.

Good on Iginla getting a chance. Pretty clear there wasn't much demand, but him moving to LA is certainly better than staying with Colorado. Can still be glad he isn't with the Flames.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Not sure if this is a good fit for Iginla. Yes Sutter knows him well. But Iginla should be going to a team that is clicking offensively but needs secondary scoring. Full strength LA is scoring very few goals. Iginla at 39 is not going to be a player Sutter can lean on.
On the second PP unit Iggy will help but that is about it.
Iggy would have been a better fit with a number of other teams.

I also find it fitting Sutter probably had a hand in landing a retread.

Did you just say Iginla lacks in scoring talent?

Thank god he's not a Flame. We have good chemistry, we have a new generation aspring toward leadership and we have a completely different character then when he was here. He would have been a novelty at best, a distraction to outright cancer at worst.
Now that he's signed I can stop worrying about the trade deadline, I'm perfectly content if we do nothing. Although I'm still holding hope we can pass Wideman and thus the Wideman effect on to a different team. Fingers crossed.

Yup. We're getting cocky as fans of a team that are 4 points up on 9th if LA wins their game in hand. JUJUJUJUJUJUJUJU

He ain't done. I think there are a few more goals left in that stick down the stretch.
He's a good fit for the Kings.

It boggles my mind that the flames didnt make a trade for him. The flames chances are no worse than the Kings. If he didn't add value to the PP or the third line, the flames could have put him on the fourth line, or sat him and used him sparingly.
I'm just more sad than anything else. Sure - if Iggy went to Washington, Minnesota, Penguins, Sharks, or Chicago, then great. But to go to LA instead of Calgary. Its just sad.

Pretty good for Jarome. Leaving the dumpster fire in COL and getting to play with Anze. Kopitar isn't having the greatest year but at least now Iginla can show if he truly has any game left.

Him going to the Kings kind of confirms not many contenders were in on him. Not much interest.

The continued disrespect shown to a player that was the face of the franchise and one of the most respected players in all of hockey is gutless.

I'm sorry but I would've puked if he went to the Oil, never really thought that was possible. Iggy ain't that type of guy, good luck in LA Iggy! People forget how that man was the heart and soul of this team for 16 god damn years, yes 16 years show a little respect.
