Thats a good point. Unless youre over paying for shorter term, then its just rediculous.
At that point, pursue MAF and ride him for 3 years until Gillies or McDonald are ready.

With Calgary being the only team looking for a goalie right now, I think Reimer will not get offers that high. If Flames do get him at the 3 M per year, they can consider 1A and 1B tandems.

I think we all assumed that something would happen tomorrow but after hearing the asking price for Fleury and knowing a Bishop will cost even more, I'm not sure this gets done right away.

News Update
Dreger says on Insider Trading Bishop looks to be primary target for Flames.
McKenzie says there is a sense the Flames may have been given permission to talk to Bishop - but they don't know for sure.
If the next contract is too expensive they may move on to guys like Elliott

Absolutely.
Bishop scared me because I assumed we would be trying to sign him all year and it'd be impossible to keep him beyond the season. If we can have an extension in place before the trade suddenly he might be the ideal goalie.
Will cost an arm and leg though...

They'd have to talk to him. Gauge his interest in playing for the Flames long term and what kind of contract extension he might be looking for.
Can't give up assets for one year of him. They'd get an extension signed ASAP after July 1st.
