No evidence of it but the party joe probably wasn’t very good for the young guys on the Leafs. I think they were smart to walk away from him. Decent enough player, but when has Joe ever done well in the playoffs?

And Gio, whose trek from undrafted player to KHL to Norris Trophy winner is a different sort of experience.

Sam was never without a veteran presence nearby.

Sorry to be a stickler, but no. That’s a Gandalf line from the first movie. The big line for Theoden after transformation is, “Dark have been my dreams of late.” (Though that's still not the first thing he says afterward.)
End of nerdy pedantic nitpicking.

So are they going to dig up Shawn Thornton's jersey and just replace the # on it?. Haha, jk.

Very happy to see he is still playing! Joe is like 6 months older than me. So I still have a chance...

Had to look up a clip on youtube because I haven't seen the movie since it was in theatres But yeah he says "I know your face" after being transformed.
Annnnyway, I also struggle mightily with all the analytics stuff, but it's nice to see Joe's getting another shot and he's still "above replacement level." Go get 'em Joe!

None of these guys wouldve been bad influences but Jagr was only here for a minute, Lucic's style leans towards the penalty heavy side of Bennett, and Gio is a dman.
Thornton is one of the all time great centreman, Bennett's natural position, and discipline has never been an issue. He can help Sam with picking his spots better, and help him improve his game at the faceoff dot/the rest of the centreman role

He likes to have a good time. I saw he joined Matthews and the Biebs on one of their escapades.

Maybe. But I’m always a bit amused by the assumption that older players are going to “mentor” younger ones. Especially goalies, when there’s only one spot on the ice for them.
