I mean honestly? This is awesome. He can still contribute (fingers crossed he stays healthy) on the bottom lines and on the power play.
I've always wanted to cheer for Thornton but he's always played on teams I despised. Not anymore!

I hope he can contribute as he has always been likable but he fell off in the later stages of the season and playoffs. He'll need to be load managed quite a bit in order to have anything left for a playoff run.

I thought he was decent on the Leafs 4th line. Panthers are going to be fun to watch next season. The moment they replaced Tallon with Zito, the organization started trending up.

I thought he was terrible on the Leafs and I watched every game. He is not a threat at all, he is extremely slow. One thing he is good for is the dressing room though. There was a lot of talk that he should have been scratched in the playoffs. I know it's likely the league minimum but if the Flames had signed him I'd have been mad that they didn't let a young guy have a shot.

He's still a good passer and set up Spezza on a few occasions for some nice goals. Was on pace for a 40 point season which is pretty good for a 4th line center. He is slow and could fall off a cliff and be totally useless this season for sure but I could see him being a useful depth player on a good team.

I believe it means he was below average in driving offense 5 on 5 but solid on the powerplay and defensively 5 on 5.
