He had a pretty good shot on Coglianno this game

A high end forward prospect would really help this team in the next year or two.

Just sayin'

I would pull Hiller for a 6th skater now. The third D can play goal when the puck is in our end. Could not do any worse.

Don't think Hamilton has played a shift since the giveaway

Frolik is playing tonight? Don't think I heard his name once from Ball today before that.

He's got to be the most frustrated Flame, and there's no way I think he signs here if he knew how he was going to be used by Hartley.

You did not beat the goalie if the defending team's goalie is pulled in favor of an extra skater. Also, mutli quote is so that the string of posts can be displayed for context. You have a good night as well.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know where to shoot on Hiller. Its pretty obvious when you have a gaping hole that large staring right at you.

Or the actual reason - Not stepping up and taking advantage of opportunities. But yeah, the fact that Hartley hates him seems logical as well.

Any chance it could be that he's just not very good at being an NHL goalie?

Yeah, so instead of playing a RFA, play a UFA who isn't very good at hockey (who everyone knows is gone for sure). Makes sense

Soon to be 5-1 with another PP for the Ducks. And Maroon with that snide smirk.

I get what you're saying, but just consider this:

Hiller is gone at the end of the season. I doubt anyone claims otherwise.

So why not give Ortio the net until the end of the season to get a decent sample size of games and to give us a proper idea of what he is capable of.

You're argument i'd imagine is that Ortio doesn't deserve more starts. Well neither does Hiller, he's garbage. So, of the 2, which serves us better short and long term to give the net to? Ortio. If he doesn't take the chance, you let him go with a clear conscience.

But the argument for not starting Ortio is almost rendered moot because Hiller doesn't deserve to start either. So why not give the rookie a go, makes more sense to me.
