1 point in his last 11 games and he looks lethargic to me.
Im not too bothered about it anyway, I feel like coleman and andersson are likely the more valuable assets right now and maybe he picks it up down the road.
Only thing i dont like is the center position is a bit clogged up with older guys who will not be here when the flames are good again in backlund and kadri. But its not like there's anyone kicking in the door right now anyway. I just wonder if they were to add a player like danielson for andersson how they would find enough ice time in the middle to maximize his development with frost playing well and the two vets towards end of career there eating up big minutes. Big hypothetical anyway
|
It is weird that a player would fall off the cliff in play so suddenly. It seems like he isn't trying out there. Which is great for the tank but obviously not great for trade value.
I still think regardless we should look to move him. Unless his trade value has gone down that much. But I believe people were speculating he could be worth a lot just a few weeks ago.

Flames will win more games by trading Kadri than we will by keeping him. Let 1 point in 11 games sink in.
He's playing beer league for most of this season. He's just a floater out there.

I know this is just a rumor and all. But how can you possibly be this dumb as an organization? To not sell high on a vet who is clearly going to decline in the next few years and his trade value will never be higher.
|
Islanders weren't trading Nelson either...god you worry a lot lol

I'm glad Kadri is asleep out there. Otherwise we'd have a few more wins and in a far worse position (neither playoffs nor lined up for a top pick).
I also trust that most prospective buyers might see Kadri's drop off as team/standings-related, and that a change of scenery and playoffs would re-invigorate him.
Prior to the slump he had 31 in 33gp or something like that. I don't think his value disappeared in 11 games.

That quote is back from January 9th, I believe. I think he also said Andersson wasn't going to get dealt before the Olympics...that was before the weekend seemed to set things ablaze.
I think the only things known about the Flames and their plans right now is that the Andersson's trade is being worked on, a lot of teams are interested in Coleman, and Kadri is open to be traded to a contender.

Pat Steinberg regarding Rasmus Andersson on Flames Talk postgame from tonight:
Quote:
|
Would not surprise if, just from a few things I've heard even today and now tonight, if the heat gets turned up that much more on a Rasmus trade. Would not surprise me if we hear this is getting closer and closer...I just feel like we are now in the end game, it feels like we've entered that window
|
Quick quoting of that, mentions would not be a surprise if we hear more and more as we see this move forward throughout this week.
Pat seems to usually be in the know, but only shares what he's allowed to.

I honestly do kinda hope that this was Andersson's last game as a Flame.
Between the Gaudreau ties and being able to spend quality time with the family, as well as the incredible emotion he showed tonight while leading the charge, it would be a beautiful end to his tenure here.

Well, naturally there could be no other possible motive for missing a player when he's gone. I mean, it's not like they're human beings or have personalities or anything.

That’s because Danielson was sent down for lack of production.

Not moving Kadri would be a pretty significant mistake.

Scorp mentioned on afterburner last night the flames never make moves away from home. Haven’t since basically Eric Gustaffson acquisition I guess. So we have a few more days to wait I suppose

I feel like the top 4 are game changers and finishing 2nd last guarantees 1 of these players. Winnipeg is winning again and only the Canucks look very bad right now. Flames trade Ras and they are right there. Trade Coleman and Kadri, they are the worst in the league.

Canucks are a tire fire. There are some new challengers in the Rangers and Blue Jackets, and the Blues are right there too (tho seem to have righted the ship recently).

McKenna and Stenberg are about as good as they come. Beyond that the entire top five will likely be amazing. McKenna, who is a Flames fan and had great chemistry with Parekh at the WJC, would be ideal, but any of these top five picks would be a massive boost for the rebuild.
I'd prefer to see the Flames get a high end forward, but having Verhoeff to pair with Parekh could lead to amazing things.
Let's make some trades! My guess is once Andersson and Coleman (and hopefully Kadri) o is gone, the Flames will be a lock for finishing in the bottom two.

Kadri had no trade value when he had a full NTC and clearly stated that he wanted to stay. And this season, CP's insiders have said that the Flames have not had any offers yet that tip the scales in terms of return. "Highest value" depends entirely on what you have actually been offered.
