What prestige? Every city over 1MM people has some type of arena/stadium, or both.
Every time I see that building, I certainly don't feel like it's "our own" by any stretch. I see corporate greed.
Womp womp.
A lot of things that make cities attractive serve corporate greed. That's the reality of living in a 1MM+ city. At least this thing also serves our interests.
For at least a period of time it will have the prestige of being the newest venue of its ilk around the league and a hot spot for big name artists, until it's no longer that.

Please keep happy hour. With a larger venue and more options / more room to move that would be terrific.
Would think that with the expected bars and restaurants on the outside that they will be offering game day specials. Not sure how much traffic these places will get non game day or in the hockey off season so maximizing volume when you can would be paramount.

I think there is something there, to get more people in early enjoying some food and drink and opening their wallets.
There is also the fact that happy hour also helps reduce entrance line congestion by spreading out peak hours. Not sure if the new rink will have better entrance capacity and this will be less of a factor.
