Default SCF: Florida Panthers (A3) vs Edmonton Oilers (P3)

My key to a Panthers repeat Cup win:

Limit penalties/stay out of the penalty box.

I see a distinct advantage 5 on 5 for Florida and I’m sure the coaching staff recognizes this.

It’s up to the players to execute and not allow the Grease to have many opportunities on their PP.

The officials are always an unknown/wild card…

I think the problem playing the Oilers trying to limit taking penalty, and end up not playing physical. The refs will call penalty Oilers opponents no matter what, they can dive all over the place and refs will buy it. Panthers should just play the way they've been playing, physical and in your face, if it end up being a penalty so be it.

The problem is the officials tend to feel sorry for the Oilers (who bitch and complain) when a game goes against them where a couple penalties were key factors.

Then instead of making them suck it up and play more disciplined they overcompensate the other way the next game and give them a glut of opportunities.

Time and time again.

Lots of Flames fans here are picking the Oilers. They’re rolling and have hammered the opposition so far. Granted, Florida will present their toughest challenge and could win.

Hope the Panthers can win but not feeling great.

Ultimately I hope we can look back at this era and say the Flames-Panthers trade was critical in keeping a cup out of Edmonton.

Hope they're chanting it at puck drop.

Give the Panthers ample motivation to rip their guts out.

I don't know why that is shocking. Vegas has the Oilers as the slight favorite to win the cup.

It'll probably be a really close series unless Skinner falls apart or McDavid goes into god mode. I was much more confident last year though in Florida, just because of the extra revenge motivation the Oilers will have.

I'm not picking either team, but I'm prepared for the worst to happen.
