jackson's answer: "no, we didn't consult with the players on this decision. didn't speak with connor, or leon, or nuge or nursey or any of the other leadership group. these guys are here to play hockey. they know that. that's what they want to do. they don't like being involved in these type of decisions, that's my experience. the fact that kris was connor's coach in erie in 2014, 15, it only has something to do with us because kris knoblauch is a really good coach. connor didn't have anything to do with this decision, and neither did the other leadership group."
So Connor is one leadership group and then there's the other leadership group? The leadership "groups" must be tiered like the fans are?

Maybe it takes Katz' personal assistant Paul Coffey being on the bench to finally understand how bad their D is. And can Coffey hold McJesus accountable defensively when his junior coach has the final say.
Guy was -25 with a 113 points I'm sure he can teach them some things.
How can Coffey hold anyone accountable defensively when he, himself wasn't accountable defensively in his playing days? His name was Paul Coffup, wasn't it?
He'll tell them that, as a last resort, you rely on your Hall of Fame goalie to bail you out.
No doubt that Holland is basically a lame duck, like so many other general managers there in the weeks and months before they get fired.
He's likely not making the decisions either now (clearly the presser shows this Jackson fellow is greasy) but the decisions that don't work, he now gets the blame from fans and media for everything from here on in...and the decisions made from here on in aren't his. Chia and Tambelleni had the same things happen to them.
Hockey dressing rooms are a fickle thing. How do you think the dressing room is going to respond when they hear that this guy is Conna's former junior coach, and then they enact the old boys room with yet another former Oiler.
Especially coming off their biggest win of the season where part of their rally was saving Jay's job.
They basically hired a gate operator for Draisaitl, and a public relations move to bring Coffey in.
They're going to get slaughted on the eastern road trip.
Bad move Conna, bad move.
