He's been paid $54MM USD in the meantime by them.

He gave up the career enhancing/care about winning fight long ago, knowing that if he said and did the right things to Lowe and others in the club, given all the crap that goes on year over year, that if he remains loyal and stable, he will keep getting re-upped at over priced contracts.

100%, this coach was handpicked by McMinus to ensure he is not asked to play any defense ever again. Clown show to bring back Coffey as well, what a train wreck of an organization.

Hearing that he is a buddy's type coach with his players. Not a hard ass coach. Yeah, a buddy coach that will let Connor and Leon do whatever the hell they please. Yeah that is exactly the type of coach the Oilers need to get them over the hump.

That's his brother's name, who is a lawyer. You can find him at Bob Knoblauch's law blog.

All joking aside, I honestly believe that the Oilers are a bigger clown show than the Flames…… and that is really saying something. Absolute embarrassment to be gifted two generational players at the same time and botch it the way they have, do not think it could be worse if they tried. Great to watch as a Flames fan.

Pretty sure he was shooting for GM with all that wisdom he was laying down for Ken.

One injury to McDavid and your job can be lost. Risky job to take.

It's true. Every Oilers coach's job pretty much rides on McDavid's knee/oblique.

Basement club without it.

Yes I am aware. I still think Connor Brown deserves one more game.

Which means he'll play 23 minutes a night with no defense.

Which will make an injury even more devestating.

This new coach has to get Brown in the lineup, he was that Connor’s junior coach too.

I would write a longer comment, but I can't stop laughing. I may need to call 911 if I can't stop soon.

He also likely played a role in getting his old junior teammate Connor Brown a $4M contract (which was a raise from last year) despite him not playing hockey in a year and coming back from a severe injury.
