The Oilers prospects are built like the main team. Mostly forwards.
Holloway, Bourgault, and Schaefer are 1st rounders. Seems like Bourgault is the best bet to be a top sixer. First year pros Petrov, Savoie, and Tullio are guys who put up strong amateur numbers last year and might have a chance a being players.
On the defence Broberg is the only real notable. Maximus Wanner has the best name though.
I'm interested to see goalie Ryan Fanti in action. He had very good numbers in the NCAA which could mean something or nothing.

Neal didn't start becoming a DB after he signed with Calgary though. Maybe not dialed in enough to see it, to me both him and Mike Smith are clearly DBs based on their faces alone, much less their antics

No, I’ve heard some things. There’s a reason he was cut loose from Vegas despite his points.

Plenty of time for the Oilers to ruin his development. Potential future Bill Masterton winner.

Wasn’t it Cameron Whynot who the Flames drafted with the pick acquired from the Oilers in the Lucic / Neal trade?

Both - pick was flipped:
re: Jack Beck
2021-Jul-24 Draft pick rights traded from Los Angeles Kings with round 3 pick in the 2021 draft (Cameron Whynot) to Calgary Flames for round 3 pick in the 2021 draft (Kirill Kirsanov)

like what. Why is there so much innuendo about Neal but no one is willing to be specific. can it be worse than old Phaneuf/Conroy's wife rumors or Iginla/Phaneuf locker room fist fight etc.

Right. I dont want to get into it. Just want to be clear it’s not just since he was signed here.

As a long time stutterer myself, I can hear how nervous he is, and the bang up job he does handling the stutter.
I have a new favourite player, and know who’s name is going on the back of my jersey. Really pulling for him to make the team.

I look at these prospects and we have a lot of Interesting names. Sure no studs but I think both poirier and kuz could be studs. I think coke Jordan has a top 4 skill set.
As for fwds I think we have a lot of good offensive players some with size and skill some with more skill and grit. Schwindt, Zary, beck, kerins and Pelletier are no slouches.
I think wolf is in consideration for a stud.
All this being reactive to translation of talent to vible nhl depth.
Taking into account that this team is contending and has been using futures to acquire nhl talent they have a decent prospect pool. I trust this scouting department. Not having coronato and toppi isn’t great for this tourney I think the flames have some really intriguing options who still have a lot of development ahead of them.
As far as I’m considered the center I’ve position hasn’t been this deep In years. It’s a great blend of FA, trades and drafting. The defence is lacking a Cale Makar but it’s a deep group of capable top four options. There are at least 4 number 2 options. That’s pretty valuable. Hanifin has potential to be a number one and so does Rasmus and so does weegar with top pp time. That’s a lot to boast. Plus a sound top 5 goaltending option.
This teams prospect pool has always been underrated. It’s not top 5 but those teams aren’t in the hunt for lord Stanley. We are.

As someone who is very insecure about my stutter and still learning to fully deal with it, I can honestly say I never knew about Pelletier's stutter until now.
And agreed. You could definitely tell how nervous he was. I was thinking about how poorly I'd handle that situation, as when I have a mild-to-severe stutter talking to non-regulars in my life, I immediately start blushing, which I feel, immediately making my situation 10× more uncomfortable

I kind of hope the Flames pick up another winger because, on one level, I would really like to see Pelletier, Schwindt and Zary spend the year together with the Heat - and play together on a line. Then potentially bring the whole line up next year.
Pelletier - Zary - Schwindt
Valimaki - Mackey
Wolf
Would be awesome if Coronato were there too.
