I don't usually read much into posture, but the sitting back, arms crossed, rambling answers really is kind of lazy. Is he drunk?

It would be easy to vote for any of Jasmine, Ian, Nate, or Gurbir. I am still leaning towards Jasmine... but hope there isn't a lot of vote splitting.

C’mon Ward 2 — you literally have one job here.

If Wyness got 8,600 votes last time, hopefully she can do a little better this time. Alternatively, if Tyers can take enough “fiscal conservative” votes from the incumbent, that would work too.

There were a few on my block that were up for two weeks that have all come down. I think the word is spreading.
There's also the old campaign trick of planting signs on private lawns without permission. Some signs stay up (inexplicably) and as for the ones that don't, the candidate cries to the media about "stolen" signs.

I'm worried that Phan is going to get in, was chatting with him, he seemed decent, expect he wanted to get rid of the 1% art rule on infrastructure projects.

Then, he started explaining how Soros was killing the Oil Sands and we need to stop him... I needed to go after that.

I feel like the lack of councilor polling helps him as well. On a ranked ballot I'd put Magliocca last out of every choice, but without decent information we're left guessing who has the best chance to defeat him.

I did my part but was ashamed to see the number of lawn signs for Joe when I drove to the polling station.

I swear people will just support an incumbent with zero context or knowledge

I know, they said after September 27th... which for whatever reason the mailing date ended up being October 1st.

100% a Chandler tactic. Completely on brand.

They also have access to data from previous federal and provincial campaigns, and guess where there's probable support.

Still, signs aren't cheap. That's an bass-ackwards way of voter ID.

That’s the issue in my ward with no incumbent. I know who I don’t want, but choosing the front runner from a couple decent options is really difficult.

I was leaning Branigan, but I reached out to her, herschel and ward about some key issues for me. Herschel won me over with very articulate responses, Branigan had ok responses, but I think she virtue signals too much and I don't know she has an actual plan.

Rob ward was a hard no, his response was "I don't really know, I'd have to talk to the constituents and find out what they want, and I'd vote that way", which seems to be a consistent response from him. really struck me as a man with no plan and no vision, and someone who would be completely lost as soon as there was a contentious issue.

Brannigan will bring in services of a steakhouse with the budget of a bistro.

I live in Edmonton and I voted yesterday.

I couldn't help myself. I voted for Jett Thunders.

I thought Francis Aranha's volunteer who knocked was very good,.and his website seems less like a caricature to me. If I think he has any chance of winning by election day I'd vote for him.
Pretty sure I remember reading Aranha was anti-mask.

Wyness will be my vote. Tyres is a career politician that works for Rempel. I'd rather not have a person who is a political lap dog.

Despite his joke persona, he's no joke candidate, like Larry Heather. From what I know of him, he'd probably be a good person to have in the Senate. He used to be no CJSW, and that's where the persona comes from. I think it was for funding drive to help raise more money.

I'm pretty anti-Tyers, and will probably vote Wyness.

That said, unless you can substantiate that comment about Aranha its a pretty unfair thing to post imo. People put very little effort into the councilor vote, and that will absolutely swing people. I googled "aranha calgary vaccine" and the only relevant result was a tweet from him promoting a drive-in Moderna clinic/stampede breakfast in July.

A similar search on masking found no relevant results. If you have backup for that please post it. I still might vote Aranha (he seems to have a stronger work/volunteer record than wyness imo) but anti mask/vax would be disqualifying imo.

Edited to add: reading through his Twitter he also re-tweeted an NDP callout of the UCP caucus for doing a bad job with the pandemic in late September, and a AB got "how to get vaccinated" tweet back in April.
