I'm in Ward 9. Probably voting Kimberly Feser. Had a decent chat with her when she was knocking on doors.
Carra's platform missed the mark for me.

Yeah I don't want to abstain on the Senate, I don't want Kenney's picks or PPC candidates coming out on top. Since there isn't much likelihood of the winners getting into the senate I'm waivering between picks that will send an FU to Kenney (Kinney, Thunder) or some of the indepednents who might actually make decent senators. Maybe both since I get to pick 3.

I think a large portion of Inglewood is not happy with the state of development, or the planning process. It’s not just one tower, it’s been a steady and persistent barrage of massive developments that (in my own opinion) run the risk of ruining Inglewood. Not to start a debate here on the topic, but it’s very clear the ICA feels that the City pushes its will and Carra fails to represent the residents.
I’ll be voting Naomi, who seems like the only serious alternate. She sounds competent, and seems to support a higher level of meaningful engagement and concern about residents voices.

I was leaning Branagan because I don’t want a Chandler/Manning kind of councillor. I wish there was a forum, some polling and things like that so I could see who had the best chance to be that kind of candidate. It doesn’t look like Vanderburg has enough support, but I guess it depends what part of the riding you’re in.

If you're voting public school trustee in Ward 5 or 10, I recommend you check out Humaira Falak.
I decided to check out websites off all the candidates who had them and hers sounded the best to me. I then discovered we had a mutual friend, who nothing but good things to say about her. I believe her background is in social work and she has experience working in areas related to domestic violence and social inclusion and mental health.

Ward 2 guy here. Who's in the best position to beat Joe Magliocca? I'm aligned with Joe's politics, but Joe steals my money and unlike federal Liberal voters I won't stand for that even if I have to vote for someone's who's politics I don't agree with.

Wyness probably, but could be Tyers. Worst case scenario is they split the "not Joe" vote and he gets re-elected.
Wish I knew better. If you're looking for someone who more closely aligns with Joe's politics out of the two, probably Tyers, so you could always vote that way and hope for the best.
I hate how little there is to know about where individual Ward races stand.

And still no ballot in the mail...
The federal one came right away and was so easy, I thought I might as well do that for city as well. Now I'm starting to regret that decision.

Also ward 2 with a similar opinion. I won't vote for criminals, and consider myself a generally right wing voter most of the time.
I talked to a Tyers volunteer at my door and wasn't impressed, seemed evasive. I'm probably voting Wyness because I think she has the best chance of beating Joe even though she'd probably be less aligned with me policy wise.
I thought Francis Aranha's volunteer who knocked was very good,.and his website seems less like a caricature to me. If I think he has any chance of winning by election day I'd vote for him.

Francis Aranha has signs at both of my neighbors on both sides. I must have missed when him or his volunteers came by the door. I wish there was a way to know who might actually be pulling ahead in the race to oust Joe. It was clearly intentional on Joe’s part to announce he’s running again at one of the last possible moments to increase the amount of candidates in hopes of winning with the lowest amount of votes.

They just only mailed them out last Friday and Thursday was a holiday, so be patient.

There is a Ward 3 debate now. I think my dislike for Brent Trenholm has been concreted.

I mean he's literally the exact kind of dope you think he is.
It's becoming increasingly apparent as well that Jun Lin is Brent Trenholm with a friendlier demeanor. (he's not in the debate but I had a chat with him the other day)

First poll that shows Gondek ahead.
https://globalnews.ca/news/8245368/c...gondek-farkas/
Gondek 27%
Farkas 24%
Davison 12%
Field 5% (not second)
Damery 3%
Undecided 29%
Leger commissioned by Calgary Firefighters Association
Still a big undecided number, which lately have been breaking more for Gondek than Farkas, but will be interesting to see the last two weeks, including how many folks actually show up.

Brent Trenholm: "People are racist because they're not busy enough. Make them busy and the racism will go away."
Jun Lin came by today, he seemed nice enough, but it's hard to tell what he stands for.

+1 to this.
Have you noticed that a bunch of Craig Chandler signs have been disappearing?
There were a few on my block that were up for two weeks that have all come down. I think the word is spreading.
