Of note: turnout in key states is already through the roof, including in Wisconsin where ballots cast are equal to 20.6% of total 2016 turnout—and there is still almost a month until the election!

I always thought he was the brightest of all the candidates. He probably wasn't the right guy to face Trump, but he would be my first choice to be president.

Different people and counties named in both articles, so it seems like there were multiple plots against Whittmer.
Whatever the total actual numbers are of these 'fringe' militia types (people say oh they're the fringe and only like 1% of population) they are all in for trump and this shows they will be out in full force.
what are other militias plotting? it is unfortunately going to look more and more dystopian the closer to election we get in every state. this is very disturbing and it indicates some serious volatility.
the west seems to think it won't happen here (revolts, political violence etc) but there is a lot of hatred bubbling over...
- Trump has a significant electoral college lead on election night
- Mail in Ballots are counted and Biden wins them 70-30
- that swings the election
- it creates the Narritive that Trump is looking for as a 70-30 win on any issue right now is surprising.
Some of that is skewed by states like California having liberal mail in ballot rules so maybe not that bad.
The thing is if mail in ballots are received well before election day they are often the first ballots counted. Anything received around election day or after won't be counted until last, but with such a large volume so far out Trump's strategy of hoping he's ahead on election night and then ending the election there is less viable.
