I predict a game 5 win for the Flames. We saw how they rebounded after losses in these playoffs.

Anyone else going to join me?

Flames have to play a better game, they were totally out classed in this one.

~50 shots in regulation is not acceptable.... 21 to 6 in the 3rd is crazy.

Flames will need to re-focus, they can be better.....
short handed for nearly 8 mins

Positive is the first line looked a lot better. To bad all the penalties gassed the some of the key defensive players at the end there.

Backlund needed to shoot it. He was all alone 10 feet from the goal and he passed it to a coveted player at a worse angle. Reider could have scored if not for the stick, but I’m tired of watching the Flames pass up golden shot opportunities.

Next game we get to see if this team is really different than previous teams or the same ol' Flames we've come accustom to.

Seriously dismayed by this teams inability to play effective 5v5 hockey. The only line delivering is yet again Lucic-Bennett-Dube. This team just kills me.

Where would this team be with Lucic-Bennett-Dube? My goodness.
We saw where this team would be without Lucic-Bennett-Dube against Colorado last year.

Defense was horrific outside of Brodie. Even the broadcast crew mentioned how they couldn't hold the line. Forbort was just a disaster, Hanifin meh but will seemingly never generate anything positive on his own. Gustafsson was ok. I'm wondering where the Andersson from last playoffs went.

Overall, Flames have an enormous problem with hockey fundamentals: recovering the puck, controlling it, and exiting the zone together. It's like they don't know whether to skate it out or pass it out, and when they try to skate they skate right into a Dallas player and when they try to pass the most they accomplish is squeezing the puck into the neutral zone, where Dallas dumps it back in again. Occasionally the Bennett line and the Backlund line manage to establish some zone time, but the vast majority of the time the Flames are chasing the puck around their own zone, as the 100+ shot attempts from Dallas show.

Strong individual performances from Talbot, Rieder, Bennett, and Brodie. Gaudreau had his best game of the playoffs by far. Quine and Dube good too.

Nope. They aren't that good together

We suck in afternoon games. Our worst game against Winnipeg was an afternoon game. Hopefully we show up better next game

When I bashed the first line a couple of days ago someone said the first line has been good on their defensive play. Johnny costed us one game, and Lindholm in today’s game. Both were valuable game breakers !

Yes. For the top line especially!

Unfortunately, they folded for much of the third and were dominated much of the OT.

My conclusions are:

Last year, the Flames were the big favorites and simply didn't show up to play or put in any effort.

This year, the Flames are the underdogs and are visibly showing more effort, but they're still getting absolutely obliterated 5v5 and are completely relying on Talbot to steal them games.

Either way, the conclusions are still the same in the end: back-to-back years of pathetic play 5v5 and relying on their goalie.

Without incredible special teams so far, the Flames would stand zero chance

Shot attempts 108-60.

They had 3 more PPs than us - that doesn’t cover the huge gap. The better team won today, and that’s that. We’ll naturally take more penalties when we’re getting hammered during even strength.

The 5v5 play is just flat-out concerning during this series.

Hopefully we see Tkachuk back in this series. He is able to distract the opposing team, even if he doesn’t find himself on the scoreboard.

Bennett had a solid game.

Welcome back to many posters we haven't seen since Thursday, or Game 2 vs WPG.

Flames penalty trouble in the third for 8 of 20 mins knocked them out of routine and ability to roll lines. That caught up with them when those penalties were killed.

Chances were there for the Flames even in OT, but really, Seguin by a matter of two inches keeping his foot onside and on the ice, the real difference here.

While it's not what I want to see...I'm OK alternating wins with the Stars, if that's how it's gotta be

The Flames played a good game 1 but have played very poor games 2,3, and 4. Yes, the series is tied 2-2 but if the Flames keep playing like they have the last three games, they are toast.
