the story where tiger does not pay for dinner for a group of seals is hilarious and odd
Never being filthy rich myself it's really hard to know what goes through the mind of a person like Woods in this situation. Surely he could have paid the tab but maybe in his mind he's more one of the guys if he's paying for only his part of the meal? I would imagine it may get tiring every time you go out for dinner when the bill comes and everyone always kind of looks at you to pay. It's human nature to at times feel you are taken advantage of. Even if you can afford it maybe you would once in a while like someone else to treat?
Did Nordegren do anything to deserve being cheated on repeatedly? Has to be pretty humiliating for her when everything became public. I don't know the details or their relationship but it probably hasn't been great for her as well as the kids.
yeah. good point. I just don't feel bad for tiger. did it all to himself.
I know it's still in the realm of conspiracy, but to me there is a lot of smoke about his possible use of performance enhancing drugs especially with the link to Galea.
could be part of the reason why his body is breaking down now, if he had been taking the drugs since his knee issues in what, 2008?
His fathers death really changed him, and not in a good way. He has to come to peace with that if he ever wants to be happy. Money can't buy happiness.
I'm still convinced he destroyed his career in the 2008 US Open. He was just back from knee surgery and ended up playing 5 rounds because the playoff was another full 18 holes. After the tournament it was revealed his knee was in much worse shape than first thought and he missed the rest of the season due to further surgery.
He was never really the same after that. "Playing through" that injury might have messed up his golf game forever. He had a few splashes in 2009, but that's where things were not as consistent and then the scandal broke.

Larry David (co-creator of Seinfeld, filthy rich), really hates that everyone turns to him whenever the check arrives, finds it de-humanizing. He also loves it any time someone else offers to pick up the check for him.
e: given what the seals did for Tiger, its ridiculous, but I can see where he's coming from.

I don't fully disagree the 2008 US Open gave him long term damage, but he was great in 2009 and 2013. He won 6 times in 2009 and 5 more in 2013. He won the Vardon trophy in both years. He was #2 on the money list in 2012 as well. In 2009 he tied for 6th in the Masters and US Open, and 2nd in the PGA. That was the year he led for the first 3 rounds of the PGA before YE Yang beat him. 2013 was also the year of the Masters' penalty. Woods almost holed his 3rd shot at 15, but hit the bottom of the flag stick. At worst it should have stuck around for a birdie. Instead he got a bogey, and then that was changed to a triple for the illegal drop. He was tied for the lead going into the hole. Instead of taking a one stroke lead, he dropped 3 strokes back. He finished the 2nd round, and the tournament, those four strokes back.

I am not sure it is in the context you might have used it.
When you read that article and see the Navy SEAL training he was doing along with the weightlifting... It's easy to see how he could have destroyed his body for golf. Golf is one of those sports that relies less on physical strength than anything else. You need a good mental game and, physically, your flexibility and control of your body is more important.
Once his body started to fall apart he likely lost that mental aspect to his game. You always hear stories of how, in his prime, he would show up at a course just completely confident he was walking away with a win. He knew he was the best.

This is true. In addition, it wasn't exactly news that his swing, in particular the early years, could lead to long term injury problems. The idea that he would obliterate all of the records was dependent upon a big "if", which was if he could stay injury free. He was awesome for a long stretch, but ultimately his body broke down.
It seems like his legacy will now be more about lost potential rather than his lengthy accomplishments (although maybe overstated somewhat due to the recent DUI). Either way, he seems more like a massive a-hole than anything else at this point.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

That is generally how it works.
I am not so sure it was Earl's death that was the cause of the trouble, however.

Hank Haney said in his book that Tiger spent some time with the Navy Seals and adopted their workout program. Hank attributes that to the back and knee injuries that Tiger has suffered.
His book also said Tiger was the ultimate ####### in the way he treated people. It was the main reason Hank stopped working with Tiger.

But..but..but it's no fun when you have noone to share it with. You'd be suspicious of every person in your life and weather they were your friends or just because you had money. Thanks but no thanks i'd rather have what I have now and real friends.

Yup...that's why most NBA and NFL players go broke within 5 years of retiring. Most come from impoverished backgrounds, and give homes, cars, etc. to friends and family. Well soon everyone is your best friend, and some take advantage of them until the well dries up.
Ditto for lottery winners. Most people who buy tons of lottery tickets are working class people. Once they hit the jackpot, they have no idea how to invest, and end up broke. Many become drug addict or die.
Money is a double edged sword. Although I wish I had some.
It's worth noting if you go into any old thread deep in pages you will see a lot of banned posters and that could be due to a lot of things not just racism. I just realized recently that Mr. Mastadonfarm got a lifetime ban so nothing really surprises me anymore. Rubecube instigates a lot of this himself as well sidetracking many of threads with his persona agenda.
