But if it ends up being Johnson at home, that's an equal handicap on our side.

Hopefully at least one of Stone/Elliott is ready to go friday.

I miss our awesome and well slotted D at the height of the streak.

Tough game, flames were really flat... Johnson had major struggles..

Now the key is to rebound and avoid the losing streak

Meh, it wasn't going to last forever.

Burn the tape, get back to work today, and move on from that game. It was a fun run.

I'm glad we lost to Boston over a game we should win (Dallas) or a team we are in the battle with.

Johnson was bad, def could argue that with Elliott in net we're at least tied going into OT. However we weren't great either, our PP has been bad again for a while, specifically the Johnny unit. Last night both units had it tough but Backlund's unit is generally better than Johnny's unit even though they gets less time. Maybe we gotta change something up or make Backlund's unit our #1.

Default Bruins 5-Flames 2. The end of the streak.

Well it's not like we were gonna end the season 23-0, and the Bruins are a hot team now. Still, would've been nice if Johnson didn't let in 2 muffins. Gotta have a good bounce back game tomorrow. Hopefully Elliott is back and Stone draws back in soon as well. If Tkachuk is still hurting it's probably the opportune time to get Lazar into the lineup. No pressure since the streak is over and Dallas is a mess right now.

Gulutzan was bang on in his post game comments in that the Bruins did an excellent job scouting the Flames and taking away what they like to do. They were in position to take away passes all night and their PK was masterful. Not going to complain too much after wining ten games in a row but I would hope for some better adjustment to what the Bruins were doing as Brodie all night was turning over the puck on breakouts as he kept trying to make the same long pass up the boards where one or two Bruins were waiting like clockwork.

Johnson was terrible and if you have to hand out goat horns to an individual he was the worst player on the ice but this was just one of those nights the entire team was simply outplayed. Bruins deserve full marks for playing one of the best games a road team has played in the Dome all season.

We all knew they would lose eventually and now it's time to see with how they deal with rebounding after that first loss. Fortunately they are facing a beatable opponent.

Yup. Did Gulutzan talk about how he completely and utterly failed to adapt?

Even so, that loss is on Johnson. The first two goals never should have happened, no matter how tough a situation he was placed in. And everyone in the building became incredibly tense after that. Even on the bench, you could see the guys worrying about every routine shot and dump-in, even though Johnson was making the difficult saves.

He could have had the third one as well, but I put more blame for that on Gaudreau having yet another Alex Tanguay moment and giving up a great shooting opportunity for a high risk-low reward pass. Nothing he could have done about the two-on-zero though. Brodie was the goat there.

I hope the Flames don't lose to the Stars or fans will be calling for Gulutzan to be fired again...

Don't mean to be over-dramatic but if there's a game where Johnson should have proven himself, it was this one. I realize he went on a hell of a run earlier in the season but he's been deflate-gate-of-late and personally I think it's starting to impact his chances of being re-signed as a backup.

Other than that I think the team came out strong early-on, Monahan had a hell of a game, but the Bruins clogged the neutral zone and in general broke down the Flames. Good win by the Bruins, they look to be peeking at the right time.

Bruins are a good team, but Johnson was flaccid last night. Hopefully he can get up for future games.

This was a good way to lose. It really shows the effort level and precision required to win. Losing a tight game doesn't hit the reset button on the effort level like this lapse should.

Brodie on the fourth goal was as back breaking as either of the 2 Johnson should have had. Can't make that pinch that early.

Next game is a must win though to not let this loss cascade into others.

The Flames structure came completely unglued last night. The Hartley homerun pass came back and holy moly was that frustrating to watch the Bruins just sit back and pick it off.

That's the worst the team has looked in some time. Johnson was bad, but Flames were even worse IMO.

Scrap the game tape and move on, was bound to happen sooner or later.

Yeah, I noticed as the game wore on that they weren't making the same short tape to tape passes while moving up the ice with puck support, hence all the turnovers. A d-man would pick it up deep in our end and right away try to feed it to a guy at center ice where a Bruin would already be hounding the guy trying to receive the pass. That was reminiscent of Hartley days and the risk wasn't worth it with the Bruins clogging up that area.

I don't think it was fully a case of being well scouted / countered, I think they also got away from their system a bit and tried to cheat in hopes of creating offence. Maybe that was in reaction to the soft goaltending (trying to go end to end to counter?) regardless, it wasn't/isn't a recipe for success. More like october than what we've seen for the last couple months.

It was obvious from the first five minutes the Bruins were cheating hard on our passing strategies. It's up to the coaches to adapt the game plan just as much as it is up to the goaltender to stop the friggen puck. When either fails their responsibility, they are fair game for criticism.

How do you know the coaches didn't try to adapt but the players reverted to old habits? IMO they got away from their game (see Brodie's huge gaffe).

Played right, GG's system should still have worked - they just weren't executing properly. Gio said as much between periods.

You know, the Bruins played a solid road game but honestly if Johnson had showed up and Gaudreau + Brodie had not blatantly caughed it up we're looking at a tie game at the very least. Totally winnable game.
