Just thought of something. Is there a chance that this structure is made of Valyrian (sp?) steel and sam discovers this and they use it to create weaponry to beat the white walkers?
Just thinking out loud, am i crazy here? It has to have some significance
I don't think it's Roberts son but who's son is it? Did they explain that part in the show? I didn't hear or see anything in the episode to suggest who's son he actually is. All we know is he's Ned's nephew and therefore has Stark blood, but I feel like I'm missing something.
If you don't watch the "Previously on Game of Thrones" thing at the beginning you'll miss things. It's Rhaegar. They made a point to show that scene with Sansa and Littlefinger in the Crypts of Winterfell, with LF mentioning how so many had to die because Rhaegar chose Lyanna. (And Sansa responds "He kidnapped and raped her" which was assumed by the 7 Kingdoms but we now know is false and she went willingly )

What sucks for me now is having to wait all this time for the next season. This season I watched the show every week. Last season I probably didn't watch it until 5 months after, so the wait wasn't as long.

She was wife to Robert, and Queen Mother when her sons ascended to the throne...
She has the strongest claim and the power to back it up.
If any other Baratheon had the backing to put a claim on the throne, I think they would have surfaced by now or been killed off by Cersei around the same time she was finishing off Robert's #######s.
It's too bad Stannis couldn't wait it out. His claim would have been strong and he may have had more support given that he was at least a Baratheon.
I finally watched the episode and like most people thought it was excellent. I loved the ominous tone throughout and thought the season was brought together very neatly. The only thing I thought was kind of corny was when Dany gave Tyrion his sheriff's badge for doing a good job. His speech to her was really good though and I loved how he pointed out that if she was going to throw herself into the "game of thrones", she is in for a life of hurt. You are opening yourself up to tragedy after tragedy.
It looks like Baelish is being set up to be one of the main heels next season as well. His plan to gain power through Sansa went sideways now with Jon being selected over her and I expect he will be out to remove Jon somehow.
I liked the Arya scene, but I am still unsure how it plays into the big picture. Everything else is linked it seems except for that arc. I expect she will pop up and save someone's hide at some point. Is Baelish on her hit list?
Tommen's suicide was interesting. I think it proves that there is no getting around prophecy. Cersei sent the Mountain there to keep him away from danger, but the prophecy still came through.
As a side, does anyone know where someone could read a good overall synopsis of the show up until this point? I feel like I lost track of some of the stories.

It's the son of the guy who kidnapped Lyanna and held her for the duration of the entire rebellion. It's Rhaegar's son. Jon is half Targaryan, half Stark.
Doesn't track for me. If she wanted him to die she would have let him go to the trial.
I do think she accepted Tommen was going to die eventually though. Didn't seem too choked up about the suicide.
Jamie would never accept that she knowingly killed their son. She can wipe her hands clean this way as she had to know Tommen would be distraught about losing his wife and the source of his new found faith. She certainly didn't seem like a grieving mother when viewing his corpse. Almost like she knew it was a necessary evil. Jamie certainly did not appear to be a happy man when he returned knowing what had transpired.
Appears to be the prophesy but she doesn't know that. She just knew she would be replaced by a wife of her son. Margaeryl was part of her purge by design.

I was re watching season one recently and in episode 2 Arya sends her wolf away after it bites Joffrey. Now that she is back in Westeros I wonder if she happens upon the wolf? Trained assassin with an even more silent direwolf side kick? Could topple an empire!

If you watch the review with commentary, it sounds like they wrote it as Tommen's death being an unwanted consequence for Cersei.

They had originally planned a big role for Ghost in Battle of the #######s but scrapped it for Wun Wun budget. Not only the CGI is expensive but the animals themselves are extremely difficult to work with. I expect the roles of the wolves to be minimal/non-existent the rest of the way.

If she'd wanted Tommen to die she wouldn't have sent The Mountain to confine him to his room, if he'd gone he'd have been bbq'd along with everyone else.
Could have had a "what have I done" scene but I think that comes next season with Jamie.
