Anyways.. what do you guys think of Nakladal?
would you try to resign him based on his play through his 2.1 games played?

I don't think people compare stories about kids having cancer to "Get Kanye out of debt" or "Get Hiller to Switzerland" to confirm their validity.

He's not afraid to shoot. And while he technically didn't get an assist on the PP goal, he helped set it up.

Well we will definitely have to trade for a goalie. Hiller, Ramo and Ortio are not the answer. on another note I think the last goalie the Flames developed in house was Vernon. Kipper was already 27 when we got him. Goalie development has been a sore point of the org for 30 years. Take Kipper out and the team has had some of the worst goaltending of any team in the league in that stretch I bet.

Hiller not good. That's obvious.
Gaudreau and Bennett get points. I'm happy.
I really think even if they end up with the 1st overall pick they should take one of the Finn's. They would fit in perfectly with this team and is exactly what's missing.

I don't know. I only donate to a select few charities because they are financially transparent. But I look at this like Craig's List. It was once a place where honest classifieds could be posted, but the reputation tanked after a series of scams and crimes took over. Now its well known to avoid Craig's List.
Pretty soon people will hear about a "Gofundme", and it will carry such a negative image that it won't matter how legit the fundraiser is, its just too risky given all the scams.

Hiller is 59 out of 60. He is the worst goalie in the league stat wise for almost 2.5 months.

Celebrated Square Root Day
|
I wish sports fans could just stop at "I don't like how this guy's performing anymore, we need to make changes". One of the ugly sides of sports fandom for me is how far fans will take it online against their own damn players, when they turn on them after performance slides.
So distasteful and rude. Yeah, yeah, they get paid lots and should be able to handle it and all that. To me, they're still human beings at the end of the day. Ugly stuff.

You might be right but you need to trade down in that scenario and try and pick up an extra asset. If you can't get a deal done you draft the best player and that is Mathews.

I don't even like Hiller
But quoting single game sv % grinds my gears. It is not statistically significant
|
Have it your way then. Hillers overall yearly stats
GPI 20. GAA 3.27. Sv%.886. SA 537 GA 57
Out of those 20 games he was pulled in 3. Currently sits at 59th worst . Ortio is sitting at 60 .

How is it any different from being called into the office and having the boss chew a piece out of your rear end for not doing your job or worse getting let go because you can no longer meet the standards being asked of your employer?

It's funny because not too long ago I remember goaltending being the strongest area of organizational depth. Immediately after we acquired Ramo it looked like this:
- Ramo, one of the best goalies in the KHL at the time
- Ortio, one of the best goalies in the SM-liiga at the time
- Broissoit - one of the best in the WHL at the time
- Gillies - one of the best in the NCAA at the time
Good thing we added McDonald and Poulin since then, because the "Promise" in that original list has thinned out very quickly.

The one interview I've seen of Hiller this year was him saying something along the lines of "I don't know what it takes to start. I won the last two games I played. It's my contract year." That sort of response tells you he's a 'me me me' sort of player. Bye Bye Hiller.

Yeah you guys are right, trading down might be the better option if a team at 2 or 3 would be willing to do so. Not that I'd complain about Mathews if we took him at 1, but those Finns are really attractive. If we get any of the top 3 I'd be thrilled.

Yeah, you're right.Calling out an amateur level performance in a professional sport is just going to cause some hurt feelings, let's just pass out "great effort" ribbons and lollipops and ice cream to everyone instead and tell everyone winning doesn't matter, its really about nurturing and caring and feeling good about themselves ...
