Was this incorrect reporting or a change of heart? How can Millions say that Hartley is essentially at the tipping point with Baertschi, and then this?
Because Millions has overreacted to the Sven situation all season, just like everyone on this board. Why wait to find out what the truth is when you can make your own assumptions?

umm, no we don't. Sven playing tonight doesn't erase his comments or the poor way he's managed this team's lineups.

At the beginning of this season I was a huge Hartley fan. He got the team to work really hard, stand up for each other, and be on the same page. We even won games against good teams and were very close in the ones we lost. The locker room had never been closer.

Now, however, I am really starting to question is capabilities. He's usually well-spoken but the last few shots at Sven have been uncalled for. When Burke came out and said he needed to play in all 3 zones, fine. When Hartley benched him the first (maybe the second) time, fine. But to bench him tonight is uncalled for. The Flames have shat the bed horribly in the last few games. We have been getting embarrassed in our own building. Stemp got beaten up by Ference and nothing happened! That will NOT build a winning team. Dallas ran up the score, Lehtonen sat on the net, and our team was getting chirped by the Stars. We did nothing.

I think Hartley is starting to lose his grasp on the team, and he certainly has lost a fan in me.

I know Millions is often vague on twitter, but he's usually pretty knowledgeable about these types of situations.

It's very odd, you have to admit. Whether the coaches changed their mind, or the media got the lines wrong, he heard about the conflict between Sven and Hartley somewhere.

I like that fact that Hartley's frustration hit its peak. Sven is officially now post apex frustrating.

Not really. Sven was being shuffled on the lines at practice yesterday. From that, Millions and Cruikshank extrapolated that to mean he was sitting. And then read into something Hartley said. Perhaps he was just frustrated about being asked about Sven for the millionth (no pun intended) time.

Box score of the last time the Flames were in Winnipeg.

http://www.hockey-reference.com/boxs...604060WIN.html

How that lineup got to the playoffs, I don't know, but they finished just over .500 for the year and got swept.

This may be a stupid question but I've seen many posters making comments that the Flames actually read CP. Again, sorry if stupid question, but is there any actual basis behind this or is it just hopeful thinking / having a laugh / trolling new CPers? lol I've just seen it posted so many times.

They sure are, makes me think that he had him scratched and something forced him to change his mind after the comments he made.

Just to recap, this is what started everything:

Roger Millions ‏@RogMillions 3m
Hearing from insiders...Coach Hartley seems to have reached a peak in frustration with Baertschi. Looks like out tonight..maybe

Hartley didn't even make any comments. This is all a lot of much ado about nothing. Maybe time to take a step back, CP.

Aha ha ha ha ha ... media gets it wrong and Hartley takes both barrels from the drama queens. Some of you weren't and aren't ready for the re-build.

Any rumor, misquote, or minor decision from coaches or GM causes chaos...it's freakin hilarious.

I really haven't cared about Hartley one way or the other for the most part........but today is the first day I've actually wanted him gone.

Not because of his coaching, or benching of Sven (which I don't agree with, regardless what happens tonight). I want him gone because he is acting like a completely unprofessional NHL head coach.

You have a problem with a player? Talk to him behind closed doors and air your grievances. You think it might be wise for him to sit a game? Fine, but do it without the not-so-veil shot at him about it being a game for men, not kids. You're the leader behind the bench, start being a leader.

The lineups, the coaching decisions, the benchings.....lots to discuss and agree or disagree on. But when your head coach is belittling players on the team by giving subtle potshots through the media it's the day I'm done with a coach like that.

How does feeling that a bad coach is improperly handling one of the young players mean we're not ready for a rebuild? No one is complaining about losses here.

Bahaha…we have nothing to do with this.

Millions is slowly turning into a hack. No idea what his source was, but that was pure BS.
