i agree, seems silly to put massive gaping holes in buildings (with a very bad sprite texture). Detroit is pretty ####ty, but it doesn't look like a warzone
give the buildings shattered windows, peeling paint, maybe a collapsed section. if i want to build my meth and crack mecca, i want it realistic

Maybe part of the desertion of the city was a meteor shower disaster?

So the guy has been posting pictures of a stadium and traffic leading up to it, and I guess you click on the stadium and choose an event, and it happens the next day at the stadium. Hence the increased traffic and use of mass transit. Little details like that make me giddy!

Maybe they were abandoned because of weak concrete during construction.

It would be cool to swap colours of your city as it changes though out the decades / centuries.

I'm amazed that they didn't add a zombie attack to the natural disasters.

Did the developers explain how the road cuts on steep slopes work? I can't imagine just dragging your mouse will allow to control the grade of the road along a slope cut.

I hope they bring back seasons into SimCity. I don't think they've had seasons since the very first game.

They have, although I can't recall seeing a screenshot with snow in it yet. the leaves on the trees change colour though.

No, there is a maximum grade, which is why you have to do switchbacks down cliffs.

They have seasons. Summers the foliage is bright green and weather is generally sunny. Winters the trees lose their leaves and it rains a lot. Sort of like seasons in Vancouver except without the chance of snow.
Snow isn't in the game yet, perhaps at a later date.
