Must be nice to be perfect.

For those loiking for a comparison, Wal-Mart is to Target in the States as Zellers is to Wal-Mart in Canada. Go into a Wal-Mart in the States, and well, just go to peopleofwalmart.com. In a Target, you will find middle class people just looking to get pet supplies, cleaning supplies, video games, toys, and maybe some clothes, all at a reasonable price, at a store with a with a higher paid staff than at Wal-Mart.

It's not high end, but if they turn out to be like Targets in the States, you will stop going to Wal-Mart.

Wow, thats a lot of condescension over a retail outlet.

I'd rather people buy clothes at Wal-Mart or Zellers or wherever the hell ever rather than the random grab bag mix of people that you usually see at Wal-Mart who look like they dont even buy clothes but rather just take them off the dead hobo they woke up next to.

Well the hobo wasn't going to use them anymore. You already stabbed him.

Target does. They are mediocre, but would be good enough for someone in their teens or early twenties htat just need something for the occasional event.

Every Target I go into feels EXACTLY like Zellers.. it's a pretty crummy store in itself.

Admittedly, I spend way too much on clothing, but a guy who looks like me needs all the help he can get! I wish I was good-looking enough to shop at Walmart!

Buying clothes in any store in Canada sucks. Expensive and out of style.

Calgary has quite a few high-end shops for men's clothing with the same range available in every other mid-range city around the world, in fact, we probably do better than most cities of around 1 million because of the inordinate amount of wealth here. Sure, we're not New York or London, but we do pretty ok.

Even if you don't want to go to Brooks Brothers or Holt Renfrew, there are still lots of options for "regular" folks. As far as I know, GAP here is the same as GAP in the USA.

As for price, standard 10-15% mark-up on items as compared to the United States.

Every time my family visits the USA we leave with empty bags ans return with them filled with everything from clothes to books. An example, we were in Hollywood and shopping at the Grove, one of the more expensive malls in LA. While in Barnes and Noble we puchased Cat in the Hat books at 8.99us. The cdn price was also listed at 13.99cdn. On top of this they were also buy 2 get one free. We then went and spent $200us on a doll at American Girl so..

I miss 1980s K-Mart.

That said, in the US, Target is just like Wal-Mart with a red colorscheme. I used to love Target in the 90s.

Nice, I've been to Target a few times in the States and always manage to snag something decent on the cheap. If prices are similar to ones in the States then I'm on board. Zellers is dank.
