Is Utah tight against the cap? If they are, then I would agree that matta is needed to facilitate the deal since they won’t be able to fit Weegar into their cap structure. However, if they are not tight against the cap and could take Weegar without having to send back Matta then I would hope including Matta adds some value to the trade in Calgary’s favour. Not sure though.
