Gen Z is all about function over fashion, to such a degree that functional clothing
is what is fashionable.
For example, take a look at the many anguished millennial women with dust-covered closets full of heels/stilettos/wedges because Gen Z has made it trendy and acceptable to put on the whole works (makeup, jewelry/accessories, dresses/outfits, etc.) and then slap on a pair of white dad sneakers to go out on the town.
