The refs who handeled the Detroit game last week or wte it was allowed it to spin out of control and terribly blew the final 8 mins giving the losing team a 5 min major that lead to a 5 on 3 and potential for it to spin even more out of control than it was already. It ties in to player safety IMO and the refs can negatively fuel the emotions of a game if they don’t do their job right.
This will never happen I know but this post does serve a valid point IMO more than the humour it was trying to convey.

It just isn't made public.
No idea what the severity or anything is/can be, but there is a review panel of some sort that will fine officials for not interpreting rules correctly.
Because there is no transparency I don't know if there is any way at all to see how, if at all, effective it is though.
