For the mock draft, are we presuming that Nichuskin interview process was everything that the flames wanted to hear?

I voted Monahan but Nichushkin is pretty darn tempting.

I voted Nichushkin. Go for the home run pick with that top one. The other two picks can be more conservative.

Monahan. Seems like a versatile, do everything Center that can put up points.

Monahan. Perfect type of center for this team.

I have not voted yet because i am stuck between Monahan and Nichushkin. Monahan has future captain written all over him and a center to boot. Nichushkin has home run talent and has been compared to a Malkin and OV. My only concern with Nichushkin is if he is going to be a "handfull" to deal with after his ELC is over. I see no problems with him getting ice time on the flames for the next 3 seasons.

BPA, and that would be Nichushkin

The Flames have talked about trading up to get one of the top 4 prospects; some suggest that it is really a group of 5 players, that includes Nichushkin. Monahan and Lindholm and a couple others are a step down in the next tier of prospects. Very likely they can get a top tier talent without moving any assets if they have done their homework and know Nichushkins contract situation and desire to be an NHLer

Take Monahan, and then try and trade up to 8 and take Nichushkin there.

Obviously Monahan, but I really don't think, given Carolina's history with a lack of European drafted players, that they take Lindholm over Monahan.

I'm worried that the Flames go after somebody like Nurse (... or Shinkaruk ...) over Lindholm if Monahan is gone.

I am a fan of Horvat but I think 6th overall is a pretty big reach on that kid.. I went with Monahan. Seems like a good fit moving forward, combination of great hands with great passing ability, we have enough speedy small guys in the system now we need that big center to build around.

Monahan. Gotta go with the saft pick that looks like at the very worst a 2nd line center over boom/bust.
