I support this thread of it centralizes any and all bitching about Jay Bouwmeester.

As someone who has tried to defend J-Bo at least some of the time, answer me this; who has come up small for this team more frequently than Jay Bouwmeester?
Name me five great Jay Bouwmeester moments. Name me three. Name one.

Bouwmeester's crappiness cannot be contained to one thread.
I'm hoping Hartley tries another pairing and at least tries to engage Bouwmeester offensively - allow him to pinch, carry the puck into the offensive zone and then go to the front of the net, etc.
Phaneuf used to get crapped on for wheeling all the way down the ice, but maybe Bouwmeester can do the same with a little more intelligence. Help the Flames gain the zone and get him involved.
Someone like Sarich might be better suited to let him stay back? I'm at a loss.

If Feaster could somehow make a package around Bouwmeester for Ryan O'Riley without giving up Sven or Gaudreau then he would be a miracle worker.

Name one great boumeester moment?
1) the ironman streak
I still put Stajan as the worst. Not only is Stajan terrible on the ice, he was a union mouthpiece during the lockout AND was caught lying in interviews about the attempted boycott of a Charity golf tournament.
At least Boumeester doesnt carry his performance off ice as well.

I used to defend him, but I just can't anymore. You pretty much summed it up. For a player that gets paid as much as he does, I can't think of too many (any) times that Bouwmeester came up big.

He's been here for three years and I cannot remember a single moment where he even showed up on a highlight for doing something exceptional. I've had enough.

Not only that, but I can remember lots of moments where he's come up small. He was god-awful during the stretch run the last two years.

Blow it up. We need Barkov and Seth Jones in here to clean this mess up. I think the change of scenery would be good for Bouw and if Kipper is retiring soon might as well trade him too and throw Iggy in there to give him a chance at the cup and get away from the stress of being on a ####ty team his whole career. Tanguay might as well go to and if he goes Cammy might as well. Sounds like a couple of first round picks to me and some guys that would be happy to leave this mess behind and start fresh some where.

We may be bad, but nobody gets to be so bad that they get two top 3 picks.

To me the Bouwmeester Ironman Streak is just the result of playing soft hockey. He doesn't initiate physical play, and he doesn't play tough in front of the net. Thus, Ironman.

I'd take Lecavalier over Jbo

Yeah, when was the last time that he was first star of a game? I don't remember thinking, wow Bouwmeester dominated that game since he became a Flame.

Defencemen are never the first star of the game.

Thanks to some wizardry by Burke. I don't know how we get into a situation like that.
