I wanted to continue the discussion we were having about hagman. I got back to your response after the thread was locked, so I think we should attempt to find common ground if at all possible.

Here's my take: Sure he is inconsistent. When he is inconsistent offensively, he doesn't contribute enough defensively to really even things out hence his + - rating. However, I suggest that he is a pure offensive player and should be limited more against better opponents' 3rd/4th lines. IMO, he's easily rendered inconsistent by teams with really strong depth of 2 way players or really strong defensive units. if he were used more effectively by the staff perhaps we would see a less inconsistent offensive player. To me his offensive game, when he's on, is very useful and successful in the League.

Unfortunately, a lot of players are looking bad on this team and it will probably taint some of the better assets.
