and then of course Kylington finds nothing but crest after Jankowski feeds him in the slot
Mike Bossy used to aim nowhere but dead center, and is probably a top 5 goal scorer ever. Sometimes you have to give the goalie credit for being in strong position on a play like that. Either way it was a really pretty play.

True. Overstating my point I guess. Nothing against Mangiapane at all. I'm excited about him as a prospect too. My point is just that rookies in general whether in the AHL or NHL often cool off as the season progresses. Jankowski has done the opposite. He's found an extra gear down the stretch. I think that speaks volumes about his readiness to take the next step.

Not based on the highlights I watched. Most of the goals against Gillies were one timers in the slot, one of the easiest areas to score from. Not many goalies stop one timers from a couple feet out that go high.
Meanwhile the Stars goalie let in a couple goals that he had clean looks at and just blew right threw him. Definitely did not outplay Gillies based on goals let in IMO

Agreed. Looking at the highlights - first one was an accidental tip to the Stars player in front of the net - no chance, a 2 on 1 goal, and a couple of plays from behind the net to wide open Stars players. Could have maybe had the last one with better positioning but overall none of those are soft ones in my opinion.

Jankowski had an elite, elite move on the rush that almost won the game but he just missed the net on the finish, I thought maybe he got hooked and it could have been a penalty shot but tough to say.
Shootout 1-1 after two rounds, Mangiapane scored with a very pretty move
Rittich stopped Guryanov (take notes Parsons!)
Janko with a Patrick Kane move and Scores!! 2-1!
2-2 now.
Round 4 starting, Shinkaruk up, but doesn't score.
Round 5 starting, Klimchuk up, doesn't score.
Round 6 starting, Kostka up, doesn't score on a pretty bad attempt.
Stars win. Not sure why Kylington wasn't used on the shootout.
