Default Commercial Auto Insurance

I need to insure a truck that will be used strictly for work. It'll be a 1 ton, used for hauling materials and tools. Unfortunately, my beloved Meloche Monnex doesn't do commercial insurance, so I am forced to look elsewhere. Any recommendations? Any recommendations about who to stay away from?

Clearly, stay away from Meloche Monnex if you need commercial auto insurance since they don't do that.

Renfrew Insurance has been really good to me. I would stay away from the Co-operators.

I guess that's why Meloche is always asking whether the vehicle is used for any commercial purposes.....

Federated Insurance is great to deal with. We insure a business and 10 Personal Vehicles with them. Nobody comes close to their price.

I use Johnson Incorporated, they are the cheapest I have ever seen. When I renewed my car insurance, I was getting raped by AMA, and I called at least a dozen places and Meloch Monnex was one of them. They could not even touch the rate that was given to me by Johnson.

I had insured a 2009 Corolla (brand new), full theft, fire, collision, 2 mill liability, and that underinsured motorist protection thingie for $950 a year.

I have never even heard of a company able to match what they offered me.

On the plus side... you pay insurance, might as well get free Air Miles

I would go through an insurance broker and then they can find who has commercial and the best rates

Bow Valley Insurance deals with lots of commercial, when I worked at AMA if it was something we couldn't do we would send people there.

Toole Peet is a good brokerage for commercial insurance. They have an office on 17th Ave which might be convenient as well.
