Default Trick or Treat!!!!! 2010

OK got the Halloween candy ready, got a cute smiling ghost in the window and now waiting for the first bugger to come by.

Let's keep a tally of how many kids come to your house tonight!

And what are you giving out? At my place each kids gets a mini chocolate bar and a lollipop!

No one has showed up yet, but it's still a little early. I'd expect them to show up around 6:00.

Handing out chocolate, twizzlers, and Nibs.

I made goodie bags. They each get a chocolate bar, some gum, a sucker, a candy necklace and M&Ms.

I've had about 20 kids so far. And one parent who said he was collecting on behalf of his sick kid. I wonder if that was legit.

Well, I will definitely have lots left over, but I imagine I am going to eat them all.

I always get carried away. My friends make fun, but I love doing it. I remember how thrilled I was when someone would give me a goodie bag... or a can of pop. Goodie bags and cans of pop were gold.

Since my city does trick or treat on the 30th, it was last night here. I ran out of candy after 251 kids. Or I should say, mostly kids.

Yeah, lol I think I'm going to have a lot left over too. Bought like 300 mini chocolates and about 140 twizzler and Nibs and only about 40 kids ever show up at my house, but it's beautiful outside right now so I'm expecting more.

And yeah we gave out pop last year and kids were pretty ecstatic, but pop prices have gone up huge over the last year and the extra 5 cent deposit made that not a choice this year.

Why is it done on the 30th?

They thought it would be better because usually people aren't home on Sundays, and that Sunday is a holy day.

No, its always on the 30th here, and tonight is the Halloween parade downtown. I'm not sure if they moved it because of the parade, or wanted it to be "safer" by avoiding actual Halloween. Its not totally rare, if search for "Beggar's Night" you see that a decent amount of towns and cities do it, but like I said, I'm not really sure why.

All it means is that the kids from the surrounding cities that do it on the 31st also get trucked over here for double Halloween.

That's just plain cheating.

So far just a group of 3 teens, probably around 18. They told me to "have a good one, yo!", after they collected their candy.

That's probably all we'll get.
