Default Angry Daddy confronts abortion protesters

There wasn't really a thread where I could post this.

This is what happens when people believe in dogma. They honestly believe they are helping by protesting an abortion clinic, and don't give any thought at all to the additional torment they heap on families dealing with tragedy.

No kidding, kudos to the guy for keeping calm. I would've busted out at least 5 c-words by the 30 second mark.

He definitely could have been harsher on them. Even without calling them c's.

If our society can generate the thousands of goons that were protesting the G20, I'm sure we can handle a few old ladies protesting the local abortion clinic. Irrational or not, I guess they can do whatever they want- Provided they do not resort to illegal measures.

Yes, the quacks that constantly show graphic images in public places are quite annoying, but they have been afforded that right in our country. Unfortunately, offending someone is not against the law.

With all that said, this gentleman also has every right to confront these protestors and explain their insensetivity.

I think his reaction was both warranted and properly measured.

These women were being idiots and were insensitive to the situation his wife was going through, but really, it's not like they deserved a beat down or something.

Why is it that most of the people against abortion are people you wouldn't wanna f*** in the first place?

Awesome video, OP.

There were some of these idiots standing at Centre St and 7th Ave a couple months ago. They said "What do you think about abortion?" I told them the fetus picture they had looked like it was covered in strawberry jam and now I'm hungry. They were disgusted and appalled and called me all sorts of nasty things as I walked away laughing. Nothing brightens my day more than messing with idiots.

Thats why they do it, its why anyone protests anything. To try to shame the people doing what they are protesting.

If anyone is wondering the backstory, the man has a blog about life as a regular dad. He and his wife discovered that their unborn baby had a rare disease, where the baby's legs fused together and would be most likely stillborn. The blog link is below, and previous entries detail the events leading up to this confrontation. It's a pretty compelling read...

Quote:
When we drove up this morning, my blood boiled immediately. There were more of them today, on each side of the street. And this time they had an increased number of signs and banners. One said “99 Babies Saved Since 2009.” Another said “God is Pro-Life.” One guy had a picture of a fetus that said “Is This a Child or a Choice?” I took deep breaths and put my arm around MJ. When they spotted us walking toward the door, they started yelling.

“YOU’RE KILLING YOUR UNBORN BABY!” was the most offensive of the remarks I heard.

I turned toward them ready to unleash every ounce of fury, but I remembered MJ
The particular blog entry with said video: http://www.daddyfiles.com/2010/07/13/abort-protesters/

This one won't embed, but this is a great video on the subject. If something is 'illegal', it should carry a penalty, and thus the question is asked "If abortion was to be made illegal, what should the punishment be for women who get illegal abortions?"

Lol, talk about not thinking things through.

I think the fact that almost none of them say life in prison shows their real value judgment on the matter... that aborting the fetus isn't as serious. If you had asked these same people what they thought the penalty for killing a 5 year old child was is there any doubt they would have gotten as close to the death penalty as possible?

Although I am not a supporter of birth control abortions... this man has a legitimate reason to blast these twits. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it is a pretty barbaric practice when used to wipe away a bad night of judgment. If it wasn't used for that reason, I honestly don't think it would be such a hot issue.

I had a scenario where a semi long term (year and a half) girlfriend of mine had one, behind my back, because she knew my opposed view of it. I knida thought something was up because she was asking questions about my views on it etc. She fully well knew that if she was pregnant I would have done the right thing with or without her , and I told her that. There was no underlying medical issues, at the time, just as simple to her as "I didn't want to lose my figure, and stretch my vag." in her own words. After I busted her, I found out it was the second one she had, and had no qualms with doing it again. The only thing I could say was ;"Do everyone a favour, and go get sterilized." Obviously it spelled the end of our relationship, but I would have raised that kid on my own and worked 3 jobs if I had to without a nickel of her support. Some people just do it for selfish reasons, and that's my gripe.

Obviously this couples scenario is much different, and I am in no place to judge them for it.
