Default Help! My D-Link WBR-1310 Keep Kicking Me Off The Interweb

I realize that it's an older router, but still for a small apartment it should do me fine.

So why would keep kicking me off the net? It seems to happen whenever I'm doing something important, or have numerous tabs open in Firefox.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I did a quick Google search, but I've never adjusted the firmware of a router before. Perhaps that is indeed what I need to do?

Cheers

I had a 5 year old linksys router that started doing this. Not sure if it's loose connections or solder over time but I ended up replacing it.

I feel your pain in regards to this router. I use to use it and it was plain crap, needing a reset every 15 to 20 minutes.

I did find a solution, and that is to change the firmware to a different model of the dlink firmware (it supports this router). This fixed ALL issues in regards to this router. If you are doing this process, make sure you do it over a wired ethernet connection, and not via wireless.

Here is a link with more information.

Note, i think this only works with Rev A of the router...(At least I can confirm it works with Rev A)

PM me if you have any q's.

My own D-Link WBR-2310 sucks as well. I have to get it replaced. It will randomly drop computers in the house and then the SSID will disappear until I reset it. It can't stream worth crap. Never buying D-Link again.
